‘My Father and Qaddafi’ Review: A Personal Documentary Portrait of a Disappeared Father

I just watched this documentary 🤯 and it really got me thinking about how hard it must have been for Jihan to lose her dad like that 😔. I mean, I can imagine how scary it would be to grow up without knowing what happened to your family member, especially when they disappeared in such a mysterious way 🕵️‍♀️. The documentary does an amazing job of showing the emotional impact on Jihan and her family, even if some parts feel a bit disjointed 💭. I think what really stuck with me was how Jihan's courage in sharing her family's story is super admirable 👏. We could all learn from her resilience and openness about such a painful topic 💕.

🤔 I was really invested in this doc until it started feeling like a history lesson 📚💡. Like, I get that context is important and all, but sometimes less is more, you know? 😴 A few sentences of exposition would've been enough to get the point across without making me feel like I'm stuck in a lecture hall 🤯. That being said, Jihan's story is super compelling and I'm glad she shared it with us 💕. Maybe next time they can find that sweet spot between info dump and emotional impact 😊👍

omg i just watched this documentary about her dad disapparance in libya 🤯 and it's like soooo emotional i felt bad for jihan the whole time she's searching for answers but at the same time i'm over here thinking why didn't she talk to qaddafi himself lol anyway i think it's kinda cool that she used home vids and old pics to tell her story it makes it feel more personal 📹👀 but sometimes it felt like the doc was trying too hard to explain all the history behind it and it just got a bit confusing 🤔 i'm still thinking about mansur tho what would've happened to him if he didn't disappear 🤷‍♀️

this doc feels like it's trying to tackle too much at once 🤯, i mean dont get me wrong, jihan's story is super powerful and all but its hard to not feel like the film is just a bunch of random stories strung together 📚...i guess that's kinda what happened to mansur tho 😕 his disappearance still feels like a total mystery and this doc doesnt really shed much light on it 💡...anyway, props to jihan for sharing her fam's story and all 👏

omg just watched "My Father and Qaddafi" 🤕 it was super emotional but i feel like they dragged on the parts about historical context for too long 😴 i mean, yeah we get it, mansur's disappearance is a tragedy but can't we just have more footage of him instead of all that extra info? 📹 also i loved how they used home vids and old pics to show us jihan's dad, it was so intimate! 👀
