I'm still trying to wrap my head around this... a Afghan national gets in and kills an American soldier, and suddenly everyone's all like "what went wrong with vetting"?
it's not that hard, folks. if you're gonna let anyone in without proper scrutiny, you'd better be ready for the consequences.
I mean, I get it, we're a country of immigrants, but come on... 20 years ago we would've done everything in our power to keep someone like this out. now we just kinda... welcome them with open arms?
It's time to take a hard look at our vetting process and make sure it's not too lax.
But, I guess that's the thing about security - it's always gonna be a trade-off between freedom and safety. You can't have one without the other... but does that mean we should just sit back and accept people like this being able to enter our country without any hassle?
