NBA All-Star Game: Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, LeBron James to be teammates in 'older US team' as part of new format

The stage is set for a thrilling showdown in this month's NBA All-Star Game as three basketball titans - Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James - will be teammates in the newly formed 'older US team'. This format change has been discussed for some time now but will finally make its debut in the 2026 edition of the mid-season spectacle.

As part of this revamped format, two United States teams will face off against each other. The younger players will form the 'USA Stars' squad, led by Detroit Pistons coach J.B. Bickerstaff, while the older group will be represented by the 'USA Stripes', with San Antonio Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson at the helm.

Meanwhile, Team World, comprising international players selected from around the globe, will take on its counterpart in a battle of basketball supremacy. Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajaković will lead this team and make it a contest to watch out for.

The 75th NBA All-Star Game promises an exciting display of skill, speed, and athleticism as each team competes in four 12-minute games. The top two teams will then face off in the Championship match. Notably, Giannis Antetokounmpo's injury has meant that Team World will have nine players on its roster.

The rosters for the three teams are as follows:
- Team USA Stars: Scottie Barnes, Devin Booker, Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren, Anthony Edwards, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Johnson, Tyrese Maxey
- Team USA Stripes: Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Donovan Mitchell, Norman Powell
- Team World: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Deni Avdija, Luka Dončić, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokić, Jamal Murray, Pascal Siakam, Karl-Anthony Towns, Victor Wembanyama

🤣 Can you believe the NBA is finally recognizing that older players are still pretty sharp? Like, who would've thought that LeBron James at 38 and Steph Curry at 35 would be able to hang with these young bucks? 😂 This format change is gonna make for some super entertaining games. I'm low-key excited to see how Giannis' injury affects Team World's chances - nine players is a big difference! 🤔 And can we talk about how great it is that we finally get to see some legit superstars team up against each other? It's gonna be a battle royale on the court... and I'm here for it! 👊

OMG u gotta love this new format change 4 the NBA All-Star Game 🤩💥! It's gonna be lit with the older US team squad featuring legends like Curry, KD, and Bron James 🙌🏽👑! And can we talk about Team World tho? Giannis getting benched due to an injury but still having 9 players on their roster is like wut 😂🤣. I'm hyped for the Championship match tho, it's gonna be a real battle of skillz 🏀💪. Scottie Barnes and Chet Holmgren leading the USA Stars squad is a great pick btw 👍! This is shapin up to be an epic event 🎉👏

idk about this team format thing... sounds like a bunch of hype to me 🤔. three superstars on one team? how's that gonna change the game? are they even gonna play each other or just sit there and look good together? 🤷‍♂️ i mean, it's all well and good but where's the substance in this setup? sources anyone? 📰

omg what's the deal with these new team rosters for the all-star game 🤔 i mean don't get me wrong it's cool that steph curry and kevin durant are on the older team but why did they have to choose steph over luka doncic from team world lol 😂 i feel like luka would bring so much more energy to the game and he's such a fan fave 🙌 anyway can we talk about what kind of jersey designs these teams will wear for the all-star game? i heard there's gonna be some sick new logos 🤑

I'm so hyped for the NBA All-Star Game this year! I think it's awesome that they're switching up the format to have a US team with older players and one with younger guys. I mean, can you imagine LeBron, Curry, and KD all on the same team?! It's gonna be epic! 🤯 I'm also loving the addition of Team World - Giannis is still out, but they've got some amazing talent like Luka and Nikola. This is gonna be a game to remember, for sure! 🏀

I'm hyped for the 75th NBA All-Star Game 🤩! This new format change is gonna bring some awesome team plays and squad chemistry to the table. The older US team with Curry, Durant, and LeBron has got some serious firepower 🔥, while Team World's roster is stacked with superstars from all over the world 🌎. I'm curious to see how Giannis' injury affects their chances 💔. On the other hand, the NBA All-Star Game is always a highlight reel of incredible dunks, three-pointers, and show-stopping plays 📺... it's gonna be an epic battle for hoops supremacy! Can't wait for the 2026 edition 😄.

OMG u gotta imagine the game!! Stephen Curry & Kevin Durant are on the same team together lol thats gonna be epic! LeBron James is like the leader of that team tho he's always been a total boss on the court I'm kinda sad Giannis isn't playing tho but 9 players is still pretty cool for Team World. Pascal Siakam is my dude btw 🤩

🤔 I mean, this new team format for the NBA All-Star Game is gonna be lit! I'm hyped to see Steph Curry, KD, and King James on the same court together... it's like a dream squad come true. 🙌 The fact that Giannis isn't playing though, sucks 🤕. And nine players for Team World? That's crazy talk! I guess they're gonna have a good chance at taking down Team USA though. 😏 I'm curious to see how the older US team will do, though - it'll be interesting to see some vets show off their skills against the young bucks. Bring on the 75th NBA All-Star Game! 🏀

omg the all-star game format change is gonna be so lit 🤩 i'm hyped to see steph curry and kevin durant play with lebron james they're like the golden trio of basketball but this new team formation will add a cool dynamic. it's interesting that giannis antetokounmpo won't be playing due to his injury, hopefully he gets better soon 🤞 as for me, i'm rooting for team world since luka doncic and nikola jokić are my favorite players btw i think team usa stripes has a pretty good mix of young and veteran players so we'll see how it all goes down 📺

Ugh, another season of the NBA All-Star Game that's more about the players than actual basketball 🤦‍♂️. I mean, having two teams with American players on one side and international players on the other is cool, but it still feels like a gimmick to me 😐. And what's up with the 4 games in each match? That's just gonna lead to some teams getting a chance to rest while others are running themselves ragged 💔. Not to mention, Giannis is out for Team World and they're still going to have nine players on the roster... that's not fair 🤷‍♂️

I'm loving the new format for the NBA All-Star Game 🤩! Having a mix of younger and older players on each team is gonna bring some serious talent to the table. I mean, you've got LeBron James on one team and Giannis Antetokounmpo on Team World - that's a power play right there 💪!

But let's get real for a sec, have you considered the coaching matchups? Darko Rajaković vs J.B. Bickerstaff is gonna be a fascinating clash of styles 🤔. I think it's safe to say that Team World has got this one in the bag with Giannis out, but you never know what can happen when top-notch coaches go head-to-head 🔥.

One thing that's for sure, though: Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant on the same team? Forget about it - that's a two-man show 🎭! Can't wait to see how they light up the scoreboard with those shooting skills. Bring it on, 2026 NBA All-Star Game! 😃

🤔 I'm not sure about this new format change for the NBA All-Star Game. On one hand, it's cool to see some veteran guys like Curry, Durant, and LeBron teaming up against younger players. It'll be interesting to see how they mesh together. But on the other hand, I feel like it's gonna be a bit too predictable - all these superstars in one team? 🤷‍♂️ Still, should be entertaining to watch, especially with Team World looking stacked! And can't wait to see Giannis bounce back from his injury 🤞

I'm so stoked for this new format of the NBA All-Star Game 🤩! It's gonna be lit to see the older US team go up against the younger guys. I mean, can you imagine LeBron James and Kevin Durant teaming up? That's some serious firepower 🔥. And Team World is gonna be super competitive with Giannis Antetokounmpo on their roster 🤯. The fact that they're having nine players instead of eight because of Giannis' injury is a big deal too, it shows how tough the competition is going to be. I'm also loving the fact that we get to see multiple games, it's not just gonna be a one-off showdown anymore ⏰. This is definitely gonna be an All-Star Game for the ages 🎉.

OMG you guys I'm soooo hyped for the 75th NBA All-Star Game!! 🤩🏀 I just got back from a family vacation in Hawaii and let me tell you I'm still on a beach high lol. Anyway back to the game... I think Team USA Stripes is gonna dominate since they've got like LeBron, Curry, and Durant on their team 😂. But at the same time I love seeing young players like Scottie Barnes and Devin Booker represent the States too. I was wondering what would happen if Giannis didn't get injured, but now he'll still be part of Team World so that's cool 🤞. And omg have you seen the roster for Team World? Like Luka Doncic is literally unstoppable on the court 💥. Can't wait to watch this game and see who comes out on top!!! 😃

Ugh, I'm literally so hyped for the 75th NBA All-Star Game!!! 🤯 The addition of a 'USA team' with players from both the younger and older generations is going to bring so much excitement to the court! Can you imagine Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James playing together on one team? It's like a dream come true for basketball fans worldwide 🌟. I'm also loving the fact that Team World has Giannis Antetokounmpo back on the roster after his injury - that's gotta be a huge boost for their chances of winning 🤞. And can we talk about how amazing it is to see some of these young players like Cade Cunningham, Chet Holmgren, and Tyrese Maxey getting a chance to shine alongside legends like Curry, Durant, and James? It's going to be an epic battle of skill, speed, and athleticism on the court 💥. I'm so ready for this!

I'm a bit old-school when it comes to the NBA - remember when they used to have that one player on each team? Now it's all about these super teams. I dunno if this new format is gonna be any good... seems like it's just a bunch of old guys tryin' to prove who's still got it, while the youngins are stuck playin' in the minor leagues 🤔.

I mean, LeBron's still a beast, but can he really hang with Giannis and Luka? Those young bucks are straight fire 🔥! And don't even get me started on Stephen Curry - that dude's still got the magic ✨. I'm just worried that all these superstars are gonna make it too easy for Team World... where's the challenge in that? 😴

I remember when the NBA used to be about defense and heart, not just a bunch of flashy dunks 🏀. This new format's got me a bit skeptical, but hey, I'll tune in to see what all the fuss is about! Maybe it'll be a blast from the past...

OMG u gotta be hyped for this one! 🤩 The new format is gonna bring so much excitement to the NBA All-Star Game. I mean, who doesn't love seeing the legends like Curry, KD, and Bron James team up with some younger guns like Scottie Barnes and Cade Cunningham? 🤯 And then there's Team World, which is loaded with talent from around the globe. Giannis' injury is a bummer though, hope he recovers in time for the game 💪. The 4-game format is gonna be so sick! Who do u think will take home the Championship trophy? 🏆

🤔 I'm loving the new format for the NBA All-Star Game! Having two US teams and Team World makes it a global affair. The 'older US team' is gonna be lit with Curry, Durant, and LeBron on the same squad 🌟. It's interesting that Giannis isn't playing due to injury, but nine players from Team World is still a formidable roster 😬. Can't wait to see Scottie Barnes go up against his own countrymen in the USA Stars vs US Stripes match 💪. What do you guys think about this revamped format? 🤓

I'm so hyped for the 75th NBA All-Star Game 🤩! The new format with two US teams is gonna be insane 🚀. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Curry, KD, and Bron playing together? It's like a dream team 🔥. And Team World looks fierce too 👊. Giannis' injury sucks tho 🤕, but it'll make the game even more competitive, I guess 😅. Can't wait for the Championship match, gonna be epic 💥!
