Ugh man... 15k nurses walkin out in NYC is crazy
... hospitals got some serious issues to deal with and they need better staffing levels, like stat
... I mean who wants to risk their patients' lives just 'cause hospital execs are too cheap to pay decent wages
. And what's up with all the red tape around immigration agents gettin in? It's already stressful enough workin in healthcare without havin to worry about some fed agent sneakin in and causin a scene
.
And metal detectors at hospital entrances? I mean I get it, safety first and all that... but come on, hospitals are supposed to be safe spaces not armed security zones
. NYSNA's tryin to negotiate with the big 3, but so far nothin's gotten done... just a bunch of empty promises from execs who don't care about the nurses or patients
.
This strike might be a necessary evil, but it's also kinda embarrassing that we need to resort to this in the first place
. We should be able to provide decent healthcare without have to go on strike... is that too much to ask?
