omg i'm so down for a show about being a total awkward teenager lol i feel like netflix is trying to capture that same vibe as 'to all the boys i've loved before' or something but with a more mature tone, you know? and castings are super crucial so fingers crossed they can find some talented actors to play those high school sophomores bill lawrence's involvement is also a big plus, he's like the master of making us laugh with shows like 'scrubs' and 'abbott elementary'
omg u gotta think about it... why did netflix wanna pick up this show? its like they're trying to manipulate teens minds or something with all these shows about high school drama and romance... sounds too familiar if u ask me but seriously, what's the real reason behind this adaptation? is it just a harmless comedy or is there more 2 it? i mean, we all know netflix has been accused of pushing out certain shows to promote their own agenda... so, is this just another case of that?
I'm actually kinda curious about how they're gonna tackle the ups and downs of teenage romance without making it too cringy . I mean, we've all been there, right? I think what's cool is that it's coming from someone who's genuinely spoken about their own experiences in the book. It'll be interesting to see how they balance humor with being respectful and not making fun of people who might not fit into the 'popular' crowd . Maybe we'll finally get a show that captures the awkwardness of high school without shying away from it !
I'm so stoked for this new comedy series! It's based on a real memoir about navigating high school romance and identity crises - how relatable is that?! With the team of Halpern, Schumacker, Lawrence, and more, I know it's gonna be hilarious and heartwarming all at once. The fact that they're drawing from Justin Halpern's own experiences makes it even more authentic. Fingers crossed for casting announcements soon and a release date!
