Never forget a face? You could be a super recogniser – podcast

Could You Be a Super Recogniser? Take Our Tests to Find Out

Do you often catch glimpses of someone's face on the street, but can't quite place them? Do your friends and colleagues frequently remind you that they've seen you before, even if you're pretty sure you've never met? You might be a super recogniser.

Research suggests that some people are naturally more skilled at remembering faces than others. These individuals, known as super recognisers, make up just 1% of the population. They possess an uncanny ability to recall faces from years ago and identify strangers with ease.

So, how can you tell if you're a super recogniser? The answer lies in your face recognition skills. One simple test is the UNSW Face Test, which involves looking at a series of images and identifying people's faces. You can also take the Super Recognisers Greenwich Test to see if you possess this unique ability.

While being a super recogniser has its advantages – such as making it easier to spot old friends in crowded places – it also comes with some drawbacks. For example, research suggests that these individuals may be more susceptible to face blindness, a condition where they struggle to recall the faces of people they know.

If you're curious about your face recognition abilities, there's no harm in taking one of these tests to find out if you're a super recogniser. Who knows – you might just discover that you possess this remarkable skill.

I'm like totally fascinated by these super recognisers, but also kinda bummed that 99% of us aren't as good at remembering faces 😔. I mean, can you imagine being able to spot an old friend in a sea of strangers and just being all like "yaaas, it's so great to see you!" 💕? That'd be awesome! But on the flip side, not being able to recall people's faces can be kinda frustrating, especially if you're trying to remember who that one colleague is from years ago 🤔. Still, I guess it's cool that these super recognisers have their own struggles too, like face blindness 😞. It just goes to show that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, right? 💯

idk, like i'm pretty sure i'd be a super recogniser lol 🤷‍♂️ but at the same time, how would i even know if i have this "ability" or not? it's kinda weird to think about someone being 1% of the population with this skill... is that even possible? 🤔 but on the other hand, wouldn't most people be able to identify their friends and colleagues by now? 😕 i don't know man, i'm torn about whether or not being a super recogniser would be all it's cracked up to be... 🤷‍♂️

OMG, I'm totally convinced that the government is hiding something from us 🤯💡... like the fact that only 1% of people are naturally good at recognizing faces 😳... what if it's not a coincidence? What if they're actually monitoring our facial expressions and identifying patterns to predict our behavior? 🤖 I mean, think about it, with face recognition technology becoming more advanced every year, it's like they're creating a surveillance state of the mind 👀. And don't even get me started on this "face blindness" condition... sounds like a cover-up to me 😒. I'm going to take both tests just to see what I can discover about my own face recognition abilities 📊👀, and who knows, maybe I'll uncover some hidden truth 🔍.

I wonder how many ppl out there are actually super recognisers 🤔... I mean, it's cool that some ppl can spot faces from yrs ago and all but I feel like I'd freak out if I was really good at rememberin ppl's faces lol 😂 think about how much info u gotta process just to look at a face for a sec! and yeah, face blindness is a thing now? 🤷‍♂️ how do ppl even deal w/ that? sounds like it could be pretty confusing 🙃 anyway, I'm down 2 take one of those tests if ppl got one up here 😄

I THINK IT'S kinda cool that some people are like, naturally good at remembering faces lol 🤓. I mean, imagine being able to spot your friends in a crowd of people and being like, "hey, that's so and so!" 😂. But at the same time, I don't know if it's all sunshine and rainbows being a super recogniser. Like, isn't face blindness a total bummer? 🤕 I guess you'll just have to take one of those tests to find out for yourself! 💡

omg i think im a super recogniser lol i mean like every time my friends come over and its been ages they always say "who's that" and then i'm like "oh yessss i know u" 🤣 anyway i took the UNSW Face Test and it was so much fun but also kinda weird seeing all those faces on screen lol i dont think im really good at spotting people in crowds though i get lost so easy 😂👀

I don’t usually comment but I had a friend who's always been like this and it's so cool... she can literally spot people from years ago 🤯. I mean, I've known her since school days and she still remembers everyone's face like it was yesterday. It's not just old friends either, she's always spotting people on the street and getting excited because she knows who they are 😂. At the same time, I don't know if I'd want to be that good at remembering faces all the time... can you imagine walking down the street and suddenly seeing someone from years ago and freaking out? 🤯 Maybe being a super recogniser has its pros and cons, but it's definitely an interesting trait.

I'm telling ya, it's not just about being good at recognizing faces, it's about the WHY behind it. I mean, have you ever wondered why some people are naturally better at it than others? Is it because they've been trained to pay attention to facial features from a young age? Or maybe it's because their brains are wired differently. I'm not saying it's some kind of government experiment or anything 😏, but think about it... what if there's more to this "super recogniser" thing than meets the eye?

I'm like 99% sure I can spot a familiar face across the room 🤔👥, but it's hilarious when my friends are like "dude, we've known each other since college" and I'm all "wait, nope 😅". Maybe I'll take one of these tests to see if I'm a super recogniser? It would be kinda cool to know if I have this ability 💡. But at the same time, it's kinda weird that 1% of people can do it better than the rest 🤯. Face blindness sounds like a real thing though... how does that even happen? 😕

omg i think being a super recogniser sounds kinda cool 🤯! but at the same time, it's wild that it only affects like 1% of people and some have face blindness 🙅‍♂️. i mean, can u imagine not being able to remember your friends' faces even after all these years? 😳 anyway, i'd love to try the tests to see if i'm a super recogniser! 👀 but idk how accurate they are...

I'm so over these facial recognition tests 🤯! Like, I get it, some people are naturally good at remembering faces and all, but do we really need to be bombarded with images of random people's mugshots? 😂 It's just not that impressive, you know? And what's up with the term "super recogniser" anyway? Sounds like a superpower from a spy movie 🕵️‍♀️. But hey, if it makes someone happy to find out they're good at this stuff, I'm all for it 😊.

🤔 I don't know... like, on the one hand, it sounds kinda cool to be able to remember people's faces from years ago 📚. But at the same time, isn't face blindness a pretty big problem? 🤷‍♂️ Like, shouldn't being good at remembering faces be a good thing? 🤔 On the other hand... what if you're just really good at paying attention to people's faces and are actually just a super observant person? 🤓 And then again, like, is it even possible that not everyone can do this stuff? 🙃 So yeah, I guess I'm kinda on both sides of this coin... 😅

I wonder if being a super recogniser is more than just a quirk of the mind... like we're all just trying to remember those fleeting faces in our lives. It's almost as if we're searching for connections in a chaotic world, and face recognition is like a thread that ties us to others. But what if it's not just about remembering faces? What if it's about remembering moments, people, and experiences that make us who we are? 🤔

I think being good at recognizing faces is like having a superpower, but it comes with its own set of challenges 🤔. I mean, can you imagine trying to remember every single face you've seen over the years? It's like trying to hold onto too many memories at once. And yeah, it's cool that some people can spot old friends in crowded places, but maybe we shouldn't forget about the importance of making connections with new people too 🤗.

It's also interesting how being a super recogniser might make us more aware of our own faces and how they change over time ⏰. Like, do you notice how your face looks different after a haircut or when you've gained weight? It's like we're constantly trying to recognize ourselves in the mirror, but sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the changes 📸.

Anyway, I think taking one of these tests could be fun and might even teach us something about our own abilities 👍. Who knows, maybe you'll discover that you have this superpower and can use it for good or maybe just use it to spot your friends in a crowded pub 🍺!
