A New York family was reunited with their beloved cat, 10 years after it slipped out of the house and vanished. The Montclair Township Animal Shelter said in a Facebook post that a Good Samaritan recently brought in a stray cat with a functioning microchip. After the shelter confirmed the cat's identity through its chip, the grateful family was finally able to be reunited with their long-lost pet.

this is the best news ever! i mean, 10 years is a long time for any human or animal to be apart from their loved ones, but imagine having that kind of bond with your furry friend. i'm so happy for that family who was reunited with their cat, it's amazing what a good Samaritan can do to bring people (or pets) together again. 
and microchips are literally a lifesaver or in this case, a reunifier
