Newly obtained cellphone video shows moments before deadly ICE shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis

Renee Good's fatal shooting by an ICE agent has been captured on cellphone video, revealing the moments leading up to her death in Minneapolis. The 37-second video shows Good saying "That's fine, dude, I'm not mad at you" as the ICE agent approaches her vehicle. A dog can be seen in the backseat of the car.

Another ICE agent is then heard telling Good to get out of the car, prompting her to reverse and turn the steering wheel right. Someone is heard yelling "Drive!" as the officer starts firing shots, with the video capturing several impacts on the ICE agent's vehicle. The officer jumps back as the SUV speeds off before crashing into two parked cars.

Good's death has sparked widespread protests in Minneapolis and beyond, with many calling for an end to immigration enforcement operations. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has characterized the shooting as an act of self-defense, but state and local officials have rejected this characterization, saying videos show the officer used excessive force.

The ICE agent who shot Good has been identified as Jonathan Ross, a veteran of nearly two decades in the Border Patrol and ICE. However, his current whereabouts are not known, with attempts to reach him unsuccessful.

As investigations continue, Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty is calling on the public to submit any video or evidence related to Good's shooting directly to her office, challenging the Trump administration's decision to leave the investigation solely to the FBI. She has also stated that Good did not appear to be acting in an aggressive manner and that the officer's use of force was "garbage."

The incident marks the latest development in a growing controversy surrounding ICE enforcement operations across the US, with protests planned for this weekend in several cities.

OMG u guys, I cant even believe what happened 2 Renee Good ๐Ÿคฏ she just got shot by an ICE agent and now theres all these protests going on! its so sad that her life was cut short. idk if uve seen the video of it but its really crazy... like, why did the officer have 2 shoot her in the first place?! ๐Ÿšซ And isnt it weird that hes saying she's not mad at him and stuff, but then he still has 2 pull out his gun? ๐Ÿค” idk what 2 make of it all. my friend who studies criminology says its a classic case of police brutality & theres definitely room 4 improvement in how law enforcement handles situations like this ๐Ÿšจ

man that cellphone video is so messed up ๐Ÿคฏ... Renee Good just seemed like a chill person having a convo with an officer and then BAM he starts shooting her ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ’€... it's crazy how some ppl think using force like that is self-defense when really it looks like he overreacted big time ๐Ÿ˜’... I feel bad for her fam, this is so senseless ๐Ÿ’”...

this is just heartbreaking ๐Ÿค•... Renee Good's death is a devastating reminder of the risks and trauma faced by immigrants who are just trying to make a living. it's not okay that Jonathan Ross used excessive force and no one held him accountable until now ๐Ÿšซ. i think it's essential we acknowledge the systemic issues here and demand accountability from our law enforcement agencies. mary moriarty is right on the money saying the officer's use of force was "garbage" ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. we need to create a safer, more just environment for everyone, regardless of their immigration status. the fact that we're still debating whether this was an act of self-defense or not is telling ๐Ÿค”... it's time for us to come together and demand change ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿ˜” watching this video is so heartbreaking i cant even think straight rn its like how can one mistake lead to such a tragic outcome? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ Renee's mom and family deserve so much more justice ๐Ÿ’ฏ and i hope they get it soon ๐Ÿ™ the fact that no one has seen or heard from Jonathan Ross is giving me chills ๐Ÿ˜ฑ what if he tries to escape or hide from accountability? ๐Ÿšซ our justice system should be able to handle this but at the same time, i'm glad that there are people like Mary Moriarty who are taking a stand and pushing for transparency ๐Ÿ™Œ

omg what is goin on here?? ๐Ÿคฏ this cellphone video is insane!!! Renee Good's death is still shakin people up and I'm not surprised protests are gettin bigger by the day ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ’ฅ I feel bad for her fam, it's just so senseless. And can we talk about how ridiculous Jonathan Ross's characterization of the shooting as self-defense is? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ like, c'mon, video evidence shows otherwise! ๐Ÿ’” and why is Kristi Noem still tryin to spin this? it's not gonna change the fact that ICE agents are bein held accountable for their actions ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ. I do hope Mary Moriarty gets the justice we all want ๐Ÿ‘Š.

๐ŸšจICE agents need some serious training on de-escalation techniques... Renee Good didn't do anything wrong and she's dead because of it ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, who gets shot by an ICE agent just 'cause they're approaching their car? The dog in the backseat is just a bonus ๐Ÿ˜‚. It's like they thought the dog was going to distract them from shooting the driver or something. Homeland Security Secretary says it's self-defense but we all know that's BS ๐Ÿ™„. Anyone have any good tips on how to get in touch with Jonathan Ross? I wanna give him a piece of my mind ๐Ÿ˜ก.

This is so messed up ๐Ÿคฏ! Can't believe what I'm watching. The fact that the dog is just chillin' in the backseat, and then this dude starts shooting... it's just crazy ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. I feel bad for Renee Good's family and friends, they must be going through an awful time right now. And the ICE agent's excuse about self-defense? Not buying it ๐Ÿ™„. It looks like a clear case of excessive force to me. The fact that there are still no consequences for this officer is just wrong ๐Ÿ’”. I hope justice is served and this incident brings about some much-needed change in our country's approach to immigration enforcement ๐ŸŒŸ.

just saw this video and it's like u can't make this stuff up...ICE agent shoots unarmed woman with a dog in her car and now they're trying to spin it as self defense?? ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿšซ what is wrong with these ppl?! the fact that the officer used excessive force and caused 2 cars to crash, putting innocent lives at risk, is unconscionable. We need answers and accountability, not more cover-ups and lies from the Trump admin ๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ’”

Ugh, what's going on here?! ๐Ÿคฏ This cellphone video is so shocking! I mean, Good just says she's not mad and there's even a dog in the backseat... how can someone get shot by an ICE agent over that? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ It looks like the officer was totally out of control. I'm so worried about Ross, the guy who did this... has he been held accountable yet? ๐Ÿค” The fact that Homeland Sec Kristi Noem says it's self-defense but state officials are saying otherwise is wild... isn't that kind of thing usually reviewed by a panel or something? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ And why is Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty even investigating the FBI? Can't she just leave it to them? ๐Ÿ˜’ This whole thing feels so unfair... I'm definitely going to be following this story and maybe even looking into more about ICE enforcement operations. They need some serious reform in my opinion! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

man thats so sad ๐Ÿค• 37 seconds is all it took for her life to be taken by someone who was supposed to protect and serve ... it's like what even is going on here? a dog in the backseat of the car, just chillin' while this whole thing goes down ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. i'm not surprised to see people protesting and calling for change, ice needs to rethink their policies and training ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. it's just so frustrating that we have to keep fighting for basic human rights like life and dignity ๐Ÿค. someone should really be held accountable for this ๐Ÿ’ฏ.

๐Ÿšจ this is so messed up ๐Ÿคฏ Renee Good was just trying to protect her life and family, and an ICE agent goes all out and starts spraying bullets everywhere... like what even is the logic behind that? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ we need to get to the bottom of this and make sure justice is served for Renรฉe's family ๐Ÿ’”. it's not just about immigration enforcement, it's about human lives being lost over bureaucratic red tape ๐Ÿšซ. let's keep pushing for an end to ICE operations and a better system that prioritizes people's safety above all else โค๏ธ

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ˜ฑ This is just so messed up ๐Ÿคฏ. I'm still trying to process what happened to Renee Good, but it's clear that her death was avoidable. The fact that she was shot in the backseat by an ICE agent while driving away from him is just insane ๐Ÿ’ฅ. And the video of her saying "That's fine, dude, I'm not mad at you" before he starts shooting... it's like he was expecting a fight or something ๐Ÿ˜ค.

I'm so tired of these kinds of incidents happening in our country ๐Ÿ™„. It feels like we're constantly being told that law enforcement is justified no matter what, but the truth is often much more complex ๐Ÿ”ฎ. I want to see some real accountability here and an end to these unnecessary enforcement operations ๐Ÿšซ.

The fact that Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty is calling for a public submission of evidence is a step in the right direction ๐Ÿ‘. And to be honest, it's about time someone was speaking out against Kristi Noem's characterization of this as an act of self-defense ๐Ÿ™„. It just doesn't add up.

I'm worried about what will happen next in these protests and how they'll be treated by law enforcement ๐Ÿ’”. We need to make sure that our voices are heard and that we're not being silenced or intimidated ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

OMG, this is so scary ๐Ÿคฏ! I mean, I know we're all about freedom and stuff, but what's going on here? ๐Ÿค” A woman is driving down the road, dog in the backseat, having a chill convo with an ICE agent (who's not even in her car ๐Ÿ˜‚), and suddenly this other officer comes along and starts freaking out... firing shots everywhere?! ๐Ÿšจ It's like something out of a movie. And now there are protests everywhere and people are talking about police accountability? Like, we need to get to the bottom of this and make sure it never happens again ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿค• this is just so heartbreaking... Renee Good was just trying to do her job and provide for her family, but someones else's fear & aggression led to her tragic death ๐ŸŒช๏ธ. The fact that a cellphone video captured the entire thing is just devastating ๐Ÿ“น. I'm not surprised that people are protesting and demanding justice for Renee - it's clear that there were red flags all over this situation ๐Ÿšจ. It's crazy that Jonathan Ross's whereabouts are unknown, but I hope he faces the consequences of his actions soon ๐Ÿ˜”. The fact that Hennepin County Attorney is calling on the public to submit evidence is a great step forward, let's keep pushing for transparency & accountability ๐Ÿ’ช

OMG I'm literally shaken by this news ๐Ÿค•! Like, who gets shot by an ICE agent and then gets to drive away like nothing happened?!?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ It's so messed up. The video is super disturbing, you can feel the fear and panic from Renee Good. And what's with the "That's fine, dude" line? Was she just trying to defuse a situation or was she actually being calm? ๐Ÿค”

Anyway, I'm all for protests and calling out this kind of excessive force. ICE needs to take a hard look at their policies and training. This is NOT okay, period ๐Ÿšซ And the fact that Jonathan Ross's whereabouts are unknown? Like, what even is going on?! ๐Ÿคฏ

I'm so glad Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty is taking this case seriously and encouraging people to come forward with evidence. We need more voices like her advocating for justice and accountability ๐Ÿ’ช. And yeah, Kristi Noem's "self-defense" explanation is not holding up at all... ๐Ÿ™„

Ugh ๐Ÿ™„, can we please take a step back from all the drama here? I'm not trying to downplay what happened to Renee Good, but come on, people. We're still trying to figure out the full story and yet everyone's already jumping to conclusions and planning protests. Can't we just let the investigation run its course for once?

And what's with the characterization of the shooting as "self-defense" by Homeland Security Secretary Noem? Come on, that doesn't even make sense ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ. We're not even talking about a clear-cut self-defense situation here. From the video it looks like ICE agent Jonathan Ross was the one who escalated the situation and then pulled the trigger.

And have you seen the footage of the dog in the backseat? Like, who lets a dog ride in a car during an immigration stop? ๐Ÿถ This whole thing is just messy, and we need to be careful not to jump to conclusions or make sweeping generalizations about ICE agents. Let's just focus on finding out what really happened here and supporting Renee Good's family ๐Ÿ’”.

man this is so sad ๐Ÿค• Renee Good's life was cut short by an ICE agent and it's just not right. I'm still trying to process what happened, but from what I've seen on the video it looks like the officer overreacted and used excessive force ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. I feel for Renee's family and loved ones who are going through this traumatic experience.

it's crazy that we're seeing more and more videos like this one where law enforcement is using violence against civilians, especially immigrants who are just trying to make a living ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. We need to hold our elected officials accountable for keeping us safe, not putting lives at risk.

I'm also really frustrated with the way Kristi Noem is downplaying what happened ๐Ÿ™„. If you're going to characterize an incident as self-defense, shouldn't you be willing to answer some tough questions about what led up to it? I hope Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty gets to the bottom of this and brings justice for Renee Good.

this is just another example of why we need to have a national conversation about immigration enforcement policies ๐Ÿค. We can't keep ignoring the fact that these policies are causing harm to innocent people like Renee Good.

๐ŸšจICE agents are getting out of hand ๐Ÿšจ

I mean think about it - an immigration agent is approaching someone's car and they're like "That's fine, dude, I'm not mad at you" and then the next thing you know there's a dog in the backseat and someone is yelling for them to speed off while they're getting shot at... what were they even thinking? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

And now the state and local officials are saying that this was an act of self-defense but I don't buy it. It looks like a clear case of excessive force to me. And the fact that the agent in question has been with ICE for nearly 20 years, you'd think they'd know better than to mess up a situation like that.

It's just frustrating when people get caught up in the system and can't get help... this woman was just trying to leave her home state after being deported from another one, and now she's dead. ๐Ÿค• It's crazy.
