Nick Mason Looks Back on Syd Barrett’s ‘Shocking’ Visit With Pink Floyd During ‘Wish You Were Here’ Recording

I'm like totally stoked about this new Pink Floyd release 🤩! I mean, can you even imagine hearing some of their unreleased tracks in the studio before they were officially released? It's crazy to think that Syd Barrett showed up at the studio for a visit during this time, it's like, so bittersweet 😔. Nick Mason's description of the band dynamic during this period is really interesting, I can imagine how frustrated the audience must've been with some of those longer tracks... but at the same time, it's cool to see how they were still experimenting and pushing boundaries 🎸. And who knows, maybe this release will give fans a new appreciation for their live shows... anyway, I'm totally downloading this release ASAP 💻!

🎸 I think it's pretty cool that the new Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" release has this bonus track from 1975... it gives us an idea of how Syd Barrett fit into their dynamic back then. From what Nick Mason is saying, it was a bit of a weird time for them - they were still working on the album but their performances weren't as tight as usual 🤖.

I've always been fascinated by Syd's brief visit to the studio during this time... it must have been pretty surreal for everyone involved. I mean, he'd already left the band in 1967 due to mental health stuff 💔. It's a shame that his struggles are still so closely tied to Pink Floyd's history.

I'm also loving the fact that there's all sorts of extra goodies with this release... Blu-ray documentaries, live albums, and behind-the-scenes photos 📚. It's like they're giving us a whole new glimpse into their world back then.

omg this new release of pink floyd's wish you were here is insane! 🤯 i mean can u believe there's a bonus track recorded in 1975? it's crazy to think syd barrett visited the studio during that time, it must've been so emotional for the band, especially nick mason. he described their performances as 'robotic' during this period which is really interesting. and now we get to hear these unreleased tracks like shine on you crazy diamond part 2 🎵 it's a fascinating glimpse into pink floyd's history and i'm loving the extra content that comes with it, like the blu-ray and live album. it's definitely making me want to revisit their discography again! 💖

I'm low-key obsessed with this new "Wish You Were Here" release 🤩! It's crazy to think that Syd Barrett actually visited the studio during this time ⏰. I mean, can you imagine being part of Pink Floyd's evolution with him? The dynamic between the band members must've been so intense, especially when they started adding more 'robotic' performances 🤖. Mason's observation about the frustration among audience members is spot on too - those 20-minute tracks were a game-changer back in '75 🎵. And let's be real, it's always dope to see unreleased tracks like "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" get some love 💡. The release has so many cool formats too, like the Blu-ray with tour films - I'm totally getting that one for my collection! 💸

I'm so curious about Syd Barrett's visit to the studio in 1975... what was it like for him? Did he still have his iconic psychedelic vibes or was he struggling more with mental health issues at that time? 🤔 I also wonder, how did the band members feel about including these unreleased tracks on "Wish You Were Here"? Was it a way to showcase their experimentation and creativity during that period? 🎵 The bonus track sounds amazing! Can you imagine what it would be like listening to Syd's guitar work in person back then? 😲
