Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman says Irish must 'be better' to make next year's playoff

Notre Dame Coach Marcus Freeman Acknowledges Disappointment, Vows to 'Leave No Doubt' for Future Success

Marcus Freeman, the head coach of Notre Dame football, acknowledged disappointment at being left out of this season's College Football Playoff, but emphasized that his focus is on ensuring the program's sustained success in the future.

Freeman pointed out that the selection process was outside of the team's control and that they should not be blamed for it. "As we look at the moment, it was obviously disappointing, right? But you have to move forward," he said. "That's what we've done as a program, that's what I've done as a leader and as I reminded the group at our team meeting on Sunday, it's our responsibility to make sure we leave no doubt."

Freeman also expressed his commitment to making changes to avoid being left out of the playoff in future years. "We can't blame it on someone else," he said. "Moving forward we can't leave any doubts about our performance and that's what I want my players to take away from this experience."

Regarding speculation about his future, Freeman made it clear that he is committed to Notre Dame and will not be leaving the program anytime soon. "I am the head coach at Notre Dame," he said. "But if I ever decide to leave, it would be because of sustained success, not just for personal reasons."

In a separate press conference, Freeman addressed allegations about a confrontation with a high school wrestling coach during a recent match involving his son. He denied any wrongdoing and expressed gratitude that the matter has been resolved.

"It's easy to clickbait headlines," Freeman said. "But I behaved in a respectful and professional manner while protecting my family, and that should have been the only headline."

Freeman also emphasized the importance of learning from this experience and using it as motivation for future success. "Although we may be confused by some of the criteria and the committee's rankings and all those different things," he said, "it's our job to attack moving forward and to leave no doubt."

lol @ these coaches always think they're above the game 🀣 but seriously freeman is just mad cuz his team got snubbed πŸ˜‚ and now he's trying to shift the blame to the committee πŸ™„ next thing you know he'll be saying it's not his fault his players aren't good enough 😎 but for real though, you gotta feel for the kid, getting left out of the playoff is tough even if it wasn't entirely his fault πŸ‘

πŸ€” come on marcus freeman already 2 years in nd but still can't get playoff spot what does that say about his coaching skills lol? might be a case of nd being stuck in mediocrity mode πŸ“‰

lol what is goin on with the college football playoff selection process? like they gotta make it up or somethin 🀣. but for real tho Marcus Freeman be doin his thang, makin moves to get that team ready for next year. i love how he's takin responsibility and vowin to leave no doubt. gotta respect dat πŸ’―.

I feel for the kid, not just because he didn't make it to the playoffs but also 'cause his old man got into a little scrape with some coach πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, can't blame Marcus for wanting to protect his fam, but y'know, as a leader, sometimes you gotta put on a show for the fans too... not saying that's what happened here, but, you know? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Anyway, I think it's cool that he's already talkin' about makin' changes to get back in the playoff mix. That takes a big man, especially when it's your first year on the job. You gotta want it more than just to survive, you gotta want it to thrive... and leave no doubt πŸ™Œ.

You know what's crazy? I was just thinking about trying out this new cafe downtown that serves amazing avocado toast 🀩. I mean, have you ever had it made with cashew cream instead of regular butter? Game changer! And the vibes in there are so chill... anyway, back to Notre Dame... I feel bad for Marcus Freeman and his team, but like, what's up with those College Football Playoff rules? It's always so random. Can't they just make it more fair? Or maybe I'm just being too distracted by my lunch plans πŸ˜‚. Oh wait, I almost forgot! I saw the cutest puppy on the street today, and I swear it was wearing a tiny little Notre Dame hat 🐢🏈

I'm so over these College Football Playoff controversies πŸ˜’... Like, can't they just make it fair for once? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Notre Dame has an amazing team, and I think they totally deserve a spot. But I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes πŸͺ. What really gets me is when coaches say stuff like "we should leave no doubt" - like, isn't that just code for "we're gonna change everything to try and win"? πŸ€”

πŸ˜” I feel like Marcus Freeman is being totally realistic about what happened this season... it's tough to control everything, especially when it comes to a bunch of people voting on who gets to go to the playoffs 🀯. But at the same time, I can see why he'd be frustrated and want to make sure his team doesn't doubt themselves next year πŸ’ͺ. It's all about growth and learning from mistakes, you know? And it sounds like Marcus is taking those lessons to heart 😊.

Ugh, can't believe they're still talking about this College Football Playoff debacle πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Like, come on Notre Dame, you guys had a great season but the committee just didn't have it right this time. And now Marcus Freeman is all like "we'll leave no doubt" for future success... yeah, okay buddy πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ. The thing that really gets me is how much emphasis is being put on his personal narrative and deflecting blame from the team. Like, can we just focus on getting better next season already? 🀯 I swear, this whole situation is just a headache 😩

man I feel like Notre Dame is still riding high from last season's comeback and everyone's putting too much pressure on them this year 🀯. it's hard to be disappointed when you're a top program like that, but Marcus Freeman seems like a class act for staying calm and focusing on what they can control πŸ‘. it's all about building a culture of sustained success and not just relying on individual performances or one season's momentum πŸ’ͺ. i'd love to see them make some changes and fine-tune their strategy to ensure they're always competitive year in, year out πŸ“ˆ.

omg I'm still reeling from the whole College Football Playoff thing 🀯 like Notre Dame got snubbed and Marcus Freeman is trying to spin it in a positive way, but at the same time he's acknowledging their disappointment πŸ€•. I get it though, you can't control the selection process, but it's hard not to feel like they were robbed of a spot πŸ˜”. anyway, Marcus is all about leaving no doubt for future success which sounds like a solid plan to me πŸ’ͺ. what do you guys think? should Notre Dame be more involved in the playoff selection process or just let the committee handle it? πŸ€”πŸ‘€

man... i feel bad 4 notre dame team, gotta give it 2 them though, freeman seems like a solid coach 🀝 his focus on leaving no doubt is super inspiring, reminds me of when i was in undergrad and we had that one project due & everyone was stressing about it but our prof just told us to attack it head-on & make it happen lol.

anywayz, gotta give props 2 freeman for not blaming others or making excuses. he's all about taking responsibility & making changes 4 the future πŸ”„ that's what we can all learn from. and hey, he's got his son's back which is more than i can say 4 some other coaches πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ so props 2 freeman 4 being a cool dad & coach too πŸ‘

ugh i feel so bad for freeman he got shafted hard on that playoff selection πŸ€• but you gotta love his attitude - he's already looking ahead to the next year and making promises to leave no doubt lol like, let's see if he can actually deliver πŸ’ͺ meanwhile i'm just over here making my own playoff push in fantasy football πŸˆπŸ‘

I think its crazy how much drama comes with the College Football Playoff 🀯... Freeman's right though, they can't blame others for not makin' it in. It's on him & his team to prove themselves next year πŸ’ͺ. Also, I don't really get why people are makin' a big deal about him talkin' to that wrestling coach, like what's the worst that coulda happened? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

OMG u guys I just can't even right now 🀯 so Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman is literally saying they shouldnt blame themselves for not makin it to the playoffs lol like whats gonna change next season? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ idk if he's tryin 2 convince ppl or himself that he wont leave tho πŸ˜’ his son got into some drama w/ a wrestler coach & now ppl r talkin πŸ€” but Freeman says its all good nd they just wanna move forward πŸ’ͺ

πŸ€” I think Marcus Freeman is taking a step in the right direction by shifting his focus from external factors to internal growth. He's acknowledging that Notre Dame can't control the playoff selection process, but what they can control is their own performance. His commitment to leaving no doubt for future success is admirable, and it's great to see him emphasizing the importance of player development and team cohesion. 🏈

πŸ€” I'm kinda shocked they left out Notre Dame from that playoff thingy this year. Like, what's the point of even having a season if you're not gonna get in? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ But Marcus Freeman is all cool about it, just saying it was outta their control and stuff. I mean, I guess he's right, but still... it's Notre Dame we're talkin' about here! 😎 They gotta step up their game if they wanna be taken seriously. And can we talk about how funny it is that there's all these allegations about Freeman gettin' into a tussle with some high school wrestler? Like, what's next? 🀣

I feel so bad for Notre Dame football πŸ€•πŸˆ, they were robbed out of a playoff spot this year. I know Coach Freeman is trying to stay positive and focus on the future, but it's hard not to be disappointed when you've worked so hard all season ⏰. What I love about him though is that he's taking responsibility for his team and promising to make changes to ensure they're prepared for next year πŸ”„. That's some serious leadership right there πŸ’ͺ. And hey, at least the coaching community can learn from this experience too - maybe we'll see some rule changes or new strategies come out of it πŸ”?
