Nottingham Forest: Sean Dyche closing in on Napoli striker Lorenzo Lucca

Nottingham Forest are on the cusp of landing Napoli striker Lorenzo Lucca, with the Premier League club closing in on a loan deal that could be made permanent. The 25-year-old Italy international has only been at Naples since July last year, when he joined on a temporary basis with an obligation to buy.

Lucca has struggled to find consistent game time under manager Antonio Conte, scoring just once in his 16 Serie A appearances so far this season, although he has made four starts. He did notil score any goals for Udinese last season, the club where he spent most of his youth and had a loan spell before joining Napoli.

New Forest boss Sean Dyche is understood to be keen on Lucca as part of his bid to bolster his team's attacking options. Wood has been ruled out since December with knee surgery. Lucca could become Forest's second major signing in recent weeks after the arrival of Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, although at £40m.

Forest are also looking at Napoli teammate Mathias Olivera as they assess their left-back situation. The club will be hoping that this loan move can be made permanent and help to lift them from mid-table with just six points above the relegation zone.

im thinkin loorenzo lucca would be a great addition 2 nottingham forest, hes got loads of talent but just needs 2 get consistent game time under antonio conte 🤔, dyche knows how 2 motivate players & i think he cud bring out the best in him. also, getting strand larsen 4 £40m is already a massive coup 4 forest, lets hope they can pull off this loan move & make it permanent ASAP! 💪
 
Nottingham Forest is like, really desperate for a striker right now 🤯! Wood's been out since Dec and they're hoping Lucca can fill the gap 🔪. I mean, Lucca's had some struggles at Napoli but you never know what's gonna happen in the transfer market 💸. If this loan deal does get made permanent, it could be a game changer for Forest 🔄.
