Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has flatly denied reports that he's unhappy with OpenAI, saying his company plans to invest a "huge" sum in the ChatGPT maker. The comments come as speculation surrounding a $100 billion investment deal between Nvidia and OpenAI has sparked rumors of tension.
In an interview in Taipei, Huang told reporters, "It was nonsense to say I'm unhappy with OpenAI." When asked about the scope of the proposed investment, he denied reports that it would reach $100 billion, saying instead, "No, nothing like that."
However, when pressed further on whether Nvidia would still be involved in an investment round at OpenAI, Huang stated, "We are going to make a huge investment in OpenAI. I believe in OpenAI, the work they do is incredible, they're one of the most consequential companies of our time and I really love working with Sam." He also mentioned that the company plans to invest "a great deal of money" - though did not provide a specific figure.
Huang's comments appear to contradict recent speculation suggesting the deal might fall through.
