man this is just so sad like what was goin on in that driver's mind to make him flee the scene like that? and now an innocent kid is gone I feel bad for amira's family, my heart goes out to them. 11 years old, that's just not right. i hope justice is served and her mom gets some closure

Ugh, can't believe this guy got away with it for 11 years... sounds like he had some major system failures going on . You gotta wonder if the city's infrastructure is really designed to keep these kinds of incidents from happening. I mean, what are bus lanes supposed to do, anyway? It's a perfect example of how we need more emphasis on public transportation and safer road design... we can't rely on individual drivers to get it done .

omg that's so sad ... can't believe a 11 yr old life lost like this . i feel so bad for her fam & friends . why do people always have to be so reckless on the roads? it's like, basic common sense to yield to pedestrians . hope the bus driver gets what's coming to him . and yeah, hospitals are doing their best with limited resources . we need more awareness & safety measures for our kids .

Man, 11 years old and already gone . I'm glad they caught the bus driver, but what's crazy is that he was driving for like, literally seconds before he hit her . You'd think he would've been more careful, especially since she was just a kid walking home from school.

I'm all for drivers being held accountable, but can't we also work on making these streets safer for pedestrians? Like, what if there were cameras or something to make people feel more secure? Or better yet, why not create designated pedestrian zones where kids can walk safely without having to worry about cars ?

This whole thing is just really sad and unnecessary . I hope the bus driver gets the help he needs, but for now, it's all about holding him accountable for his actions .
