this is so sad ... i cant believe someone lost their life over a fake gun thingy... it makes me wonder how many other situations like this happen behind closed doors without anyone knowing... are police officers really under that much stress and pressure to respond quickly? shouldn't there be more training on de-escalation techniques too? its not just about shooting the fake gun, its about understanding whats going on with the person holding it . also, why didnt they try calling 911 for mental health services instead of resorting to force?
I don’t usually comment but this whole thing is just super messed up ... like, I get it, safety first and all that but can't they think of a better way to handle this situation? Two fake guns weren't gonna kill anyone, right? And what's the deal with these imitation guns? It's not like people are actually using them for good or anything. Manufacturers need to step up their game and make these things so you can tell they're not real from a mile away ... I mean, come on NYC can do better than this
