Um like, so what does this mean for Ocean City? It's not just about the luxury hotel, it's about what else is gonna happen to that part of the boardwalk... I guess if they don't make it a rehabilitation zone, it'll just get reviewed with all the other boardwalk stuff. And then what? More meetings? It feels like we're stuck in some kind of loop. Can someone explain to me how this works... or does nobody know yet
ugh, great... just what we need more luxury hotels ruining the charm of ocean city . it's not like the city council needs any more excuses to drag out decisions and overpay for development projects . the fact that icona resorts has already received bids exceeding 25 million says all I need to know - the city is just waiting for them to pony up
I gotta say, it's kinda surprising that the planning board didn't go for it - I mean, who wouldn't want a fancy new hotel in Ocean City? But at the same time, I can see why some people might be against it. I've heard from friends who live in the area and they're not sure if it's gonna fit in with the vibe of the boardwalk. And then there's the environmental concerns - did anyone really consider how the hotel would impact the ocean views? It's all pretty complicated, you know?
I do think it's a shame that the project is now stuck in limbo, though. I've heard Icona Resorts was ready to move forward with something, and now it's just gonna be a waiting game. Can't help but wonder what would happen if they sold the property - would we see some new development come along?
