Other People's Fun by Harriet Lane review – darkly comic tale of envy and revenge in the Insta age

🤔 I gotta say, this new book is like a mirror held up to our society 🌐. Social media is like, super addictive and all, but it's also messed with our perceptions of reality, you know? 💭 We're always comparing ourselves to others and feeling inadequate because we can't keep up online 👀. It's like we're living in some twisted game show where everyone else has the perfect life except us 🤡.

I think that's what Lane is trying to say with this book - we need to take a step back and be honest with ourselves about our own lives, flaws and all 💯. We can't just keep projecting our insecurities onto others and calling it "admiration" 😂. It's like, we're all in this together, for better or for worse 👫.

Anyway, I've read the book, and yeah, it was uncomfortable, but also kinda relatable 🤷‍♀️. Maybe that's why Lane is so good at exposing our darkest fears - she gets us on a level that's hard to ignore 🔥. So, if you're looking for a thought-provoking read that'll make you squirm in your seat, then this book is def worth checking out 📚!
