I'm kinda relieved that PA's got a record low for crash deaths in 2024, but still super concerned about those top killers - speeding & drunk driving . Like, shouldn't we be able to hit the roads without worrying about losing our lives or others? And what's up with the underage drinking scene? 8% of driver deaths involving teens is a red flag, imo . Anyway, it's good that PennDOT's prioritizing safety education, but we gotta keep pushing for more
Speeding is literally so annoying - 357 deaths last year alone is crazy! And I'm not even talking about those who died from drunk driving (244 fatalities, ugh). But seriously, what's up with all these young people under 20 years old getting killed while driving? 8% of driver deaths in that age group involved underage drinking... it's just so heartbreaking . I mean, I get it, roads can be crazy busy during holidays, but shouldn't our gov be doing more to prevent those accidents from happening in the first place? Seat belts being a major issue too - 50% of people who died weren't wearing them... come on!
