Paul Pierce thinks Knicks have a Jalen Brunson problem

Paul Pierce thinks the New York Knicks' Jalen Brunson problem may lie not with the point guard himself, but rather with his teammates. According to Pierce, the issue is that some players on the team don't enjoy playing alongside Brunson because he's a high-scoring threat who can be inconsistent at times.

Pierce pointed out that while Brunson has been averaging 27.9 points and 6.1 assists per game this season, there are other top performers like Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby who are often left open or need more touches. Pierce believes that if the Knicks could find ways to create more scoring opportunities for these players, they might be able to free up Brunson to play more effectively.

However, it's worth noting that Brunson has been making an effort in the locker room to help turn around the team's losing streak. He recently called an all-players meeting after a double-digit loss, and the team responded with a 54-point victory over the Brooklyn Nets just days later.

While Pierce's claim may have some validity, it's unclear whether Brunson is truly the problem or if there are other factors at play. The Knicks' cold streak may be taking place out of context, as Brunson was not active during their losses to the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors. As All-Star Weekend approaches, it will become clearer whether the team needs to make any changes.

I think Pierce has a point ๐Ÿค”, like if you got players who are top performers but they're just sitting there, getting 5-10 mins of playtime, it's gonna affect Brunson's game too... he can't be expected to carry the team alone all the time, right? ๐Ÿ’ช But at the same time, Brunson has been trying to help out his teammates by being more vocal in the locker room, that's a good sign ๐Ÿ™Œ. Maybe they just need to find a balance and play to each other's strengths... would be interesting to see how it all shakes down come All-Star Weekend ๐Ÿ“…

Brunson's teammates need to chill ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ‘€ - if they dont like playing with him, why did he call an all-players meeting to fix it? ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ฌ anyway, its cool that he's trying to lift everyone up ๐Ÿ’ช... but lets be real, the team needs a bigger plan ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ”ฎ - just having one superstar doesnt cut it anymore โš ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘€

OMG, i think Pierce is kinda right ๐Ÿค”... like, if some players on the Knicks dont feel like theyre gettin good touches or havin open shots, it probs makes Brunson play less effectively? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby are both ballers who deserve to see more action, right? ๐Ÿ’ฅ And its not all on Brunson, he's tryna do his thang too ๐Ÿ˜‚. But at the same time, if the team is gettin all their shots blocked or whatever, that might also be part of the problem ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Ill def keep an eye on this situation, especially w/ All-Star Weekend comin up! ๐Ÿ‘€

idk why ppl are so quick 2 judge brunson he's havin a decent season & tryna help his team win ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ meanwhile pierce is just throwin out opinions like hes some kinda coach lol brunson doin his thang but yeah its possible that other players r gettin overlooked ๐Ÿค‘ bridges & anunoby need more touches but that dont make brunson the problem idk wut the knicks' coach needs 2 figure dat out ๐Ÿค”

omg what's good ๐Ÿคฏ so i'm reading this article about Jalen Brunson and paul pierce is like "hey guys maybe the problem isn't brunson but his teammates lol" ๐Ÿค” i feel him tho, if mikal bridges and og anunoby are getting left open all the time and need more touches then that's def a problem. but at the same time brunson has been tryin hard to help turn it around and get his teammates on board ๐Ÿ™ so i don't think he's the entire issue... maybe we should just see what happens in the next few games and if they can get their act together ๐Ÿคž

I feel like this is a classic case of scapegoating ๐Ÿค”. Jalen Brunson's teammates need to step up and create more scoring opportunities for them, not just sit back and let Brunson do all the work ๐Ÿ’ช. I mean, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby are both super talented players who should be getting more touches on offense. And it's not like they're not making shots when they do get theirs ๐Ÿ“ฆ. But no, instead of focusing on developing a more balanced offense, everyone's just blaming Brunson for the team's losing streak ๐Ÿ˜’. Give the guy some credit for taking charge in the locker room and calling out an all-players meeting ๐Ÿ’ฌ. Maybe if his teammates just started pulling their weight, they wouldn't have to rely so heavily on him to carry the team ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

I think Pierce is onto something, but I'm not sure if he's going too deep into the weeds ๐Ÿค”. I mean, Brunson's been doing alright for himself this season, and yeah, maybe his teammates are a bit miffed about all the attention he gets ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ. But is it really that simple? What if they're just not playing as well in general? Like, I know Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby are both beast players, but maybe they need to figure out how to complement Brunson's game instead of just waiting for him to get an open shot ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And have you seen the Knicks' bench lately? It's like a sad, sad place ๐Ÿ˜”. I think it's more than just one guy being the problem... but at the same time, if anyone can turn things around, it's Brunson ๐Ÿ’ช.

idk about this i think pierce is onto something though like brunson is a superstar but he's got some diva teammates who don't wanna pass to mikal or og. they're all worried about being benched for brunson lol meanwhile brunson is trying his best and getting hurt just to sit on the bench lol maybe the knicks should just give brunson space and let him score like 40 a game and see how that affects everyone else ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Brunson's teammates need to step up ๐Ÿค๐Ÿฝ, he can't do it all alone... and another thing, what's with the inconsistent scoring? If Bridges and OG Anunoby are being left open, that's on their coaches/teammates to get them more looks ๐Ÿ“บ. Pierce is right, create more scoring opportunities for the big dogs on this team. The question is, can they do it? ๐Ÿค”

idk why ppl r focusin on brunson, it's obvious the team is strugglin cuz of other guys, like bridges & anunoby... they're gettin benched or left open, what's the point? pierce just sayin the truth, if u can't create scoring opportunities for ur top players, they'll be lazy too ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

omg u guys i'm totally with paul pierce on this one ๐Ÿค”. like bruns has been doin some crazy numbers but yeah if the rest of the squad is just ghostin him all the time then he's not gonna be able to reach his full potential. i mean bridges and anunoby are literally begging for touches and it's just weird that they're gettin left open on a reg basis. but at the same time bruns has shown he can rally the team when they need it most so idk if its all on him or if there's more to it. maybe the Knicks just gotta find some ways to balance out their scoring and we'll see how it all plays out ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I think Pierce makes a valid point ๐Ÿ‘, but we gotta consider more than just the players' feelings towards Brunson ๐Ÿค”. The fact that the team responded so well after his meeting says a lot about how motivated they are to win ๐Ÿ’ช. Still, it's interesting to see that the losses happened when Brunson wasn't even on the court ๐Ÿ˜. Maybe there's more to this than just him being inconsistent? ๐Ÿ”ฎ I'm curious to see what the Knicks do at All-Star Weekend ๐Ÿค”...

omg u guys gotta read this! so paul pierce is saying that jalen brunson's teammates are the real problem ๐Ÿคฏ like what? pierce thinks that mikal bridges and OG anunoby are basically being left out in the cold because brunson is a high scorer ๐Ÿค‘ but i think it's a bit unfair to say that about him, he's just trying to do his thing on the court

and omg i love how he called an all-players meeting to try and turn things around ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ† and the team responded with a huge win over the nets? like what's not to love about that ๐ŸŽ‰ anyway, maybe pierce has a point but we need more info before we can make any judgments ๐Ÿ”

I think Pierce has a point ๐Ÿค”... I mean, if some players aren't enjoying playing with Brunson because he's a high-scoring threat and can be inconsistent, that could definitely affect the team's overall performance ๐Ÿ’ก. It's not just about having a star player like him, but also making sure everyone else gets opportunities to shine too ๐Ÿ†. And yeah, if they can find ways to create more scoring chances for guys like Bridges and Anunoby, it might help Brunson get into a better rhythm โฑ๏ธ. But at the same time, Brunson's been trying to bring the team together in the locker room after some tough losses ๐Ÿค... so maybe he's not all bad ๐Ÿ˜Š.
