Peter Watkins, Oscar-winning director of The War Game, dies aged 90

Sorry to hear about Peter Watkins' passing 🙏, but have you seen some of his films? Like "The War Game" where they basically recreated a nuclear attack on TV... it's wild 😱 thinking about how much that would've freaked out the audience back then! Anyway, I think he was ahead of his time with all these experimental and provocative films. 873 minutes of a documentary? That's some commitment to making a point 🤯. And what's up with this whole " Brechtian-style techniques" thing... sounds like just a fancy way of saying "we're going to confuse you into feeling something".

OMG u no how sad i am about peter watkins passing away lol its like he was still making cinema magic in 2025 🤯 but yeah i always had a major crush on him since watching "The War Game" as a teenager his documentary style was sooo ahead of its time & im all about that truth to power vibes 💁‍♀️ and i love how he kept pushing boundaries w/ his films like no one else could get away w/ that kinda rebelliousness 🤖 his legacy will def live on thru his 2 sons & all the filmmakers who grew up inspired by him 👍

just can't believe peter watkins is gone 🙏 he was like a genius or something. i mean, the man directed films that were super ahead of its time and still hold up today. his approach to storytelling was so raw and unapologetic, it's no wonder he made such an impact on the film world.

i think what really stands out about watkins is how he used his platform to speak truth to power. like, his films weren't just entertaining, they were also thought-provoking and challenging. he didn't shy away from tackling tough topics or pushing boundaries – that's why we love him for it!

anyway, i'm gonna miss this guy 🤗. his legacy will live on through his amazing films, but it's still sad to see someone as innovative and talented as peter watkins go 💔
