Philly sues CVS Health, other pharmacy benefit managers for their roles in opioid crisis

man.. this is like, totally unacceptable πŸ’” these pharmacy benefit managers are literally profiting off people's suffering and addiction πŸ€‘ its not right that they can just ignore the harm they're causing and keep making money off it πŸ’Έ we need to hold them accountable for their actions especially when it comes to the most vulnerable communities in philly πŸŒ† black and hispanic folks have been hit hardest by the opioid epidemic and now they're being left behind again πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ this lawsuit is a step in the right direction but we gotta keep pushing for real change πŸ”₯

The whole thing just got so messed up 🀯... PBMs are basically making bank off people getting hooked on opioids and it's not even like they're doing anything to help. I mean, if they had access to all that data, why didn't they just use it to prevent the crisis in the first place? It's all about profits over people, you know? πŸ’Έ And the fact that CVS is denying the allegations but Express Scripts and Optum aren't saying anything is just shady πŸ€”. The city needs to keep pushing for accountability and I hope they get some real change out of this lawsuit πŸ’ͺ

OMG 🀯 Philly is seriously taking on these big-pharma companies over their role in fueling the opioid crisis! Like, can you even? 😱 I feel so much sympathy for the city's Black and Hispanic communities that have been hit hardest by this issue... it's just heartbreaking. πŸ’” The fact that PBMs knew about the dangers of opioids but continued to push them anyway is just disgusting. πŸ‘Ž And 19% fewer opioid-related fatalities in Philly last year? That's still super concerning, tbh πŸ€•. Holding these companies accountable is so crucial in fighting this epidemic... fingers crossed for a successful lawsuit and some real change πŸ’ͺ🏽.

I'm not buying all this... πŸ€” I mean, PBMs are just trying to make a buck, and Philly's basically telling them they can't profit off people's suffering? It sounds like a bit of a witch hunt to me... 😏 Have they actually done any real research or investigated these companies' claims?

And what about the stats on opioid-related fatalities? 19% decrease in just one year is pretty significant, but how do we know that's not just correlation vs causation? Did Philly actually take steps to address the crisis before bringing up the PBMs? I need some actual evidence before I start waving my flag of outrage... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I'm all for holding corporations accountable, but let's not jump to conclusions here. We need more info on what's really going on and how this will actually help the people affected by the opioid crisis. Sources, anyone? πŸ’‘

This is really messed up 😞, these pharmacy benefit managers are literally profiting off of people's lives. I mean, how can you justify making money off of someone getting hooked on opioids? πŸ’Έ It's not like they're even hiding it, they know exactly what they're doing and they just don't care about the harm they're causing. πŸ€• The fact that CVS Health is denying it but Express Scripts and Optum aren't saying anything is just weird, like they're all in on it or something πŸ˜’

And can you believe the numbers? 300 pages of proof that these companies knowingly over-distributed opioids and were engaged in deceptive marketing practices... it's like they had no shame πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. The city is trying to hold them accountable but I feel like it's a step too late for some people. πŸ’”

man... can't believe these PBMs are getting away with all this 🀯 they're literally profiting off people's lives and suffering. it's like, what even is the point of having regulations if corporations are just gonna find ways to skirt around them? and yeah, Philly being one of the hardest hit cities in the opioid crisis... it's heartbreaking πŸ’”. but kudos to Mayor Parker for taking a stand and demanding accountability from these big guys. gotta make 'em pay for their greed πŸ€‘
