Police investigating series of Somerville break-ins

Multiple Somerville homes targeted in series of break-ins.

Residents in a section of Ward 2 are on high alert after a string of residential break-ins occurred between November 22nd and the evening of November 23rd, according to police. The incidents took place along Harold, Wyatt, and Dimick streets.

Authorities described a possible suspect as a male with dark complexion, operating a scooter while wearing a puffy jacket. An investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made yet.

Police are urging residents to remain vigilant in securing their residences and leaving porch lights and some interior lights on as a precautionary measure when residents are away from home.

Residents are advised to contact 911 immediately if they observe anything suspicious. Authorities believe the suspect(s) seem to be targeting homes when no one is present, making it crucial for homeowners to take extra precautions.

The Somerville police department reminded citizens to report any potential security breaches and encouraged them to stay informed about the ongoing investigation.

omg this is so not cool somerville i feel like they're just leaving it up to us to watch our own backyards lol seriously though why target homes when no one's around? did they even check if there are cameras or something? and what's with the scooter dude and puffy jacket combo? sounds like a movie plot πŸ˜‚πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ” anyway, just hope these break-ins stop soon and somerville can get back to its chill vibes 🀞

🚨 this is getting crazy in somerville! i mean, break-ins on a string? that's so not right. u think it's just someone looking for an easy score or is it more than that? πŸ€”

i'm all for people being able to enjoy their homes without worrying about some random person breaking in. like, what if there were kids around? or pets? it's not just about the material stuff, it's about safety and security.

i wish they'd be more transparent about the investigation too. i get that police don't wanna spill all the tea, but a little bit of info would go a long way in putting people's minds at ease. like, are they looking for one person or multiple suspects? what's the motive? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

anyway, to all the somerville residents, let's stay vigilant and look out for each other. if we keep our eyes peeled and report anything suspicious, i'm sure the police will get to the bottom of this soon πŸ’‘

omg u guys this is crazy 🀯! somerville is like my fave neighborhood in boston i live nearby and idk what's gonna happen next πŸ€”, but i'm all about bein prepared, ya know? so i'm defa going to leave my porch lights on 24/7 from now on lol. and yeah its super frustrating that these break-ins are happening at night when no one is home it feels like they're just lookin for an easy score πŸ€‘, which is super unfair to the residents who are always keepin it real πŸ’―. anyone got any tips on how to prevent this stuff from happenin'? πŸ€”

Ugh πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ, another string of break-ins in Somerville? It's like they just can't catch a break (no pun intended πŸ˜’). I mean, who leaves their porch light on all night anyway? Not exactly rocket science, right? πŸ™„ And what's with the puffy jacket-wearing scooter dude? Sounds like something out of a bad movie πŸŽ₯. Seriously though, residents need to step up their game and get some decent security cameras or alarm systems already! πŸ’‘ This is just getting old 😩. And what's with the lack of arrests so far? You'd think they'd have at least one lead by now... πŸ€”

I'm getting major anxiety vibes from this πŸ€•. I mean, who breaks into people's homes? It's like they're not even human anymore πŸ€–. And a scooter with a puffy jacket? That's so sketchy! I'd be on edge 24/7 if I lived in that neighborhood 🚨. The police are doing the right thing by telling us to keep our lights on and stay vigilant, but come on, who hasn't done something stupid while they were out? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ We need more than just security measures, we need community support! Let's get together and make our neighborhood safer for everyone πŸ’•.

😬 I'm not surprised to see a string of break-ins in Somerville, especially during the holiday season when people are away from home more often πŸŽ„. It's a perfect storm for potential burglars to take advantage of lax security measures. The fact that the suspect is operating a scooter and wearing a puffy jacket makes them seem quite agile and able to quickly move around the neighborhood πŸ”’. I think it's great that the police are urging residents to stay vigilant, but we also need to recognize that this is a bigger issue than just individual home security 🀝. We should be looking at broader community solutions to prevent future break-ins, such as improved street lighting and increased foot patrols in high-crime areas πŸ’‘.

Omg what's going on in Somerville?! 🀯 like how many break-ins can happen in one day? Authorities need to step up their game ASAP, especially since they're targeting empty homes... that's just so sneaky! 😳 I mean I get it, security is a top priority, but this is getting out of hand. residents should be worried, especially if they have kids living alone. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ can't help but think the guy on the scooter must've had an accomplice or two... πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘€

Ugh, this is so frustrating 🀯! Break-ins are super scary, especially when it's a string of them happening in one area. I feel for all the residents in Somerville who have to be on high alert now 😬. Leaving porch lights and some interior lights on while you're away from home is such a simple thing that can make a big difference - it's like, what's the harm in doing that? πŸ€” It's not like you're gonna hurt anyone or anything... just making your house less appealing to potential burglars, you know? πŸ πŸ’‘

Ugh this is so frustrating 🀯! Break-ins are never fun, especially during the holiday season when people should be cozying up at home, not worried about their homes being targeted. I hope the police catch whoever this is ASAP ⏰. It's crazy that they're targeting homes when no one's around - can you imagine how scary that must be for residents? 🚨 I'm definitely going to make sure my porch light is on all night if I have to, just in case! 🌟 And, omg, a guy on a scooter with a puffy jacket sounds like the ultimate bad guy πŸ˜‚. Fingers crossed he's caught soon and we can all get back to feeling safe at home ❀️.

🀯 what's goin on with these break-ins?! Like, first of all, scooter? really? how hard is it to walk or bike around? and puffy jacket? sounds like somethin outta a bad movie 🍿 can't we be more than just victims of circumstance anymore? πŸ™„ and wat about the streets at night?! shouldn't there be some kinda CCTV or streetlights or smthn? and why do people even leave their homes unattended like that? are they waitin for somethin to happen? πŸ€” it's so frustrating...

🚨 u guys, just saw this on the news and its getting me all shook lol somerville is like 5 mins from boston but its already got more crime than i thought theres like a string of break ins on ward 2 & cops are still looking for a suspect who might be wearing a puffy jacket & scooter πŸ˜‚ idk if thats the coolest combo ever but im not surprised at all with all the break ins going on everywhere nowadays. its like somerville is basically saying "hey let us have a crime spree" πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ anyway just a heads up to all my friends who live in somerville pls be careful out there & dont leave ur windows open πŸ˜…

🚨 Break-ins are getting out of hand in Somerville! I feel bad for all those residents who got hit by these unsavory characters πŸ€•. It's crazy that someone is targeting homes when no one's around - it's like they're just looking for an easy score 😬. The police are doing their best to track down the suspect, but it'd be super helpful if we could all keep our eyes peeled πŸ‘€. I mean, who wants to risk their home and belongings being burgled? Not me, that's for sure πŸ˜‚. Leaving lights on is a good start, but maybe we should also consider investing in some decent security cameras or alarm systems? Just saying πŸ€”

Ugh, this is getting scary in Somerville 🀯! Break-ins happening left and right? It's time for some serious community action 🚨. I mean, who wants to live with the fear of being a potential target? The authorities are doing what they can, but it's not enough - we need to look out for each other too πŸ‘₯.

I know some folks might think it's just a one-off thing, but if you've lost count of how many homes have been hit, that's a bigger problem πŸ€”. And yeah, the suspect description is pretty vague - dark complexion and a puffy jacket? Not exactly a lead to follow πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ.

One thing for sure: more porch lights and some interior lighting would be super helpful - it's like, we're not hiding from anything here πŸ˜…! If anyone sees something suspicious, 911 is there to help. But seriously, we need to report any security breaches ASAP. This whole thing is just frustrating πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

OMG 🀯 u guys gotta be so careful w/ ur homes rn! Like i know its easy 2 assume somethin will never happen 2 u, but trust me i've seen ppl get hit by identity theft or their stuff gets stolen while they're out...this break-in thingy could b a major issue if we dont take precautions πŸ€”

so like, if ur away from home, make sure u turn on ur porch lights & some interior lights 2 let people know u r home & not an empty house, lol. also, get yur security cameras up ASAP & report any suspicious activity 2 the cops 2morrow πŸ“ΈπŸ’‘

😬 this sounds super concerning - like who does that kinda thing? πŸ€” i mean, targeting homes when no one's around is just really sketchy... hope the authorities catch whoever it is ASAP πŸ’¨ anyway, gotta give props to the police for keeping everyone informed and encouraging residents to take security precautions... porch lights on all day when you're out would be a great start 😊

omg this somerville break in thingy is so wild! i mean, who's on a scooter in a puffy jacket at night? sounds like a movie πŸ˜‚ anyway, i feel for the residents there gotta be super scared now. what if it was someone they knew? πŸ€• police are doing their thing but yeah, porch lights on 24/7 is not a bad idea lol. and ugh, no one's been caught yet so that's just scary. hope they catch whoever it is soon

OMG, this is super sus πŸ˜’... like, what's up with these break-ins? First off, a guy in a puffy jacket on a scooter? Sounds like a total noob trying to blend in πŸ™„. And dark complexion? Not a bad description at all πŸ€”... they probably think we're too dumb to notice if someone's suspicious πŸ˜….

I'm so over the police urging us to leave porch lights on and stuff. Like, come on, can't you just do your job properly? It's not like this guy is gonna get caught because of some faulty porch light ⚑️. And what's with the "no one present" thing? Are they thinking we're all just gonna magically know if someone's snooping around our houses when we're not home? πŸ™„

I'm low-key terrified that this guy might be targeting specific homes and no one will even notice... like, a pattern or something πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™€οΈ. We need more info, stat! And why did it take them this long to start investigating? This is basic surveillance 101 πŸ”

this is getting scary in somerville 🚨 like what's going on here? is this a case of people not taking responsibility for their own homes or is it something more sinister? I mean, we need our politicians to come up with some serious solutions to address this issue instead of just telling us to be vigilant all the time. what about installing security cameras and improving street lighting? that's some basic stuff that can help prevent these break-ins. and why are they not providing any more info on the suspect, like is it a local guy or someone from outside our community? we need answers, not just a bunch of empty promises πŸ€”
