Premier League: Harry Wilson interview after winner against Brighton

Fulham midfielder Harry Wilson hailed the winning goal against Brighton as "extra special" in an exclusive interview with BBC Sport's Jason Mohammed.

Wilson, who scored a late winner to seal a 2-1 victory for Fulham, revealed that he was convinced it would be his goal after a series of opportunities went awry. The Welshman said: "I thought it was going to be one of my chances but it just wasn't happening. But then I saw the goalkeeper make a mistake and you've got to take your chances."

The 25-year-old praised Fulham manager Scott Parker, who he credited with providing a game-changing substitution that helped turn the match in their favour. "Scott made some great substitutions and we were able to change the game," Wilson said.

Wilson's goal marked his fourth of the season and cements his status as one of Fulham's most reliable attackers. The midfielder acknowledged that the win was a result of the team's collective effort, saying: "We worked really hard as a team and it paid off. We knew we had to grind out a result against Brighton and I'm just glad I could play a part in it."

For Wilson, who has been linked with a number of clubs throughout his career, the win at the Amex Stadium is a significant boost to his side's Premier League aspirations. "This is a great result for us and we're happy to get three points," he said.

OMG 🀩 I'm loving Wilson's attitude after scoring that goal! He's so humble and gracious, it's awesome to see him give credit to the team effort πŸ’ͺ. And can we talk about Scott Parker's game-changing subs? Genius move, mate! 😎 Fulham is definitely looking up now with this win. We should all be celebrating our own wins, no matter how small they may seem πŸ₯³. Wilson's fourth goal of the season is a testament to his hard work and dedication πŸ’Ό. Keep it up, Harry, you're an inspiration 🌟

I think what's interesting about Wilson's goal is how it shows just how much a single moment can change the momentum of a match πŸ€”. He's not one to get overly excited, but there was something special about that goal, maybe it was just him in the right place at the right time? But it also says a lot about his character that he took advantage of the mistake and capitalized on it πŸ’ͺ. And I love how he gives credit to his manager for making those crucial substitutions – it shows just how much teamwork is involved in achieving success 🀝. Not sure what's next for Fulham, but this win definitely boosts their chances in the Premier League πŸ‘.

πŸ† I think what's really impressive about Wilson's goal is how it just sort of... happened πŸ˜…. He wasn't even thinking that much, he was just reacting to the situation and taking his chance when it presented itself. And let's be real, the goalkeeper had a pretty big mistake, so you can't really say he single-handedly scored the goal. But Wilson's reaction was spot on - he acknowledged that it was one of those moments where you've got to take your chances.

And I love how he's giving credit to Scott Parker for the substitutions that changed the game πŸ™Œ. It's not always easy to give up control of a match, but when you do make the right substitutions, it can totally flip things around. Wilson seems like a down-to-earth guy who's just focused on doing his job and helping the team win.

It's also interesting to see how this win boosts Fulham's chances in the Premier League πŸ“ˆ. They've been working hard as a team, grinding out results when they need to, and it's paying off. Wilson's goals have definitely been a highlight of their season so far, but it's clear that he's not carrying the whole load on his own - the team is working together to achieve their goals πŸ’ͺ

omg what a game !! 🀩 fulham finally got that 3 points they needed and harry wilson is on fire πŸ”₯πŸ’¨ i love how he just took his chance when the goalkeeper messed up πŸ˜… and scott parker's subs were pure genius πŸ‘ fulham's team effort was everything, they worked so hard together πŸ’ͺ now let's see how they do against the rest of the teams in the league 🀞

aww poor harry wilson was having a tough game but he stuck with it & ended up scoring that winner 😊πŸ’ͺ love how he praised scott parker for making some crucial subs, teams really do need each other's support like that πŸ’• also glad to hear he's stoked about the win, it's defo a great boost for fulham! πŸ†

I'm low-key loving Harry Wilson's confidence after that match 🀩. I mean, you can tell he's been working on his mental game and it's paying off. He's not afraid to say he was convinced it would be his goal and then took it when the opportunity arose... talk about clutch! 😎 And let's give Scott Parker props too, that substitution must've made all the difference in turning the match around πŸ’‘. Wilson might be linked with other clubs, but for now, I think Fulham's got a solid shot at making a push for the top 4 πŸ†

OMG 🀩 Fulham is definatly getting stronger!! Harry Wilson's goal was lit πŸ”₯! He needs to keep it up tho, they cant rely on him 2 much lol πŸ˜‚. Parker made some sick subs and changed the game for them. The team played hard 4 it and it paid off!!! πŸŽ‰

I was watching this goal replay on repeat and I'm like "yessss, Harry Wilson is living his best life!" πŸ™ŒπŸ’¨ He's been grinding it out all season and that late winner just gives me chills. Scott Parker's subs were pure genius, by the way - he knows how to get the most out of his players. And let's be real, a win against Brighton isn't easy, so this one's got some serious cred for Fulham. It's not just about Wilson scoring, though... the whole team came together and that's what makes it so special. I'm loving this season so far! 😊

I think what's cool about Wilson scoring that goal was like... [draws simple diagram of a football field with a goal at the end]

Imagine all those chances not going in, but then you see that mistake from the goalkeeper and you just gotta pounce! It's like a big puzzle where one piece finally fits and everything changes. πŸ€”

And I love how Wilson talks about the team effort – it's not just him scoring the goal, it's everyone working together to get that win. That's what makes football so great, right? The teamwork and camaraderie. πŸ’ͺ

Fulham's season is looking pretty promising now, and that win against Brighton is a big boost for them. πŸ†
