Pubs and live music venues to get support after business rates backlash

I mean, who wouldn't want £80m a year for pubs? It's like they're saying 'pubs, we know you're struggling, here's some cash to help'. But, honestly, it feels like a Band-Aid on a bullet wound. I'm all for supporting the pub industry, but this just seems like a short-term fix. What's the long-term plan, mate? 🤔💸

I'm kinda relieved about this u-turn on pub business rates 🙌. £80m is still a decent chunk of change, and I get that it's not the end of the world, but honestly, it feels like an afterthought considering how much the industry has been struggling lately 💸. I mean, £1,650 per year is better than nothing, but £4.3 billion was a more substantial offer, if you ask me 🤔. Still, props to Emma McClarkin and the British Beer and Pub Association for pushing for change 🙏. It's not all sunshine and rainbows for pubs, but this might be just enough to keep some of them afloat until we get a proper long-term plan in place 💪. Maybe we should've seen it coming, though - business rates are always going to be a thorn in the side of small businesses 🤷‍♀️.

omg u no i was literally stressing about pubs closing down left & right 🍺😩 but now theres £80m support package coming thru 🤑🎉 thats like, avg saving of £1,650 per year tho...still not enough tho? 🤔 think gov should do more to help long term...but hey its a start 💪
