Raffi Quirke: England scrum-half announces Sale departure

England scrum-half Raffi Quirke has announced his departure from Sale Sharks at the end of the season, with speculation surrounding a potential move to Newcastle Red Bulls. The 24-year-old had been hampered by injuries throughout his time at the club and was often bypassed in favour of Scotland's Gus Warr.

Despite this, Quirke has enjoyed a strong run of form recently, retaining his place in England's squad for the autumn internationals. However, he revealed that playing for Sale 'is the hardest decision of my life' and will give everything to bring success to the club before leaving.

Quirke has agreed to a two-year deal with Newcastle Red Bulls, who have recruited heavily in recent weeks. This move comes after a period during which Quirke had expressed a desire for a new challenge and environment in his rugby career.

The scrum-half's departure from Sale will be felt, particularly in light of recent additions such as all-Black Hoskins Sotutu, Exeter pair Josh Hodge and Rusi Tuima, Northampton forward duo Sam Graham and Elliot Millar-Mills, along with fellow Puma Franco Molina.

Alex Sanderson, director of rugby at Sale Sharks, has expressed his appreciation for Quirke's contributions to the club, stating that he feels like 'he wants to try a new environment and a new challenge.' The decision is seen as a loss for the club, but also an opportunity for Quirke to pursue his next chapter in rugby.

πŸ€” 2 years is a decent time frame for him to bring success to Sale Sharks... hope he can stay healthy πŸ₯πŸ’ͺ doesn't seem like Newcastle Red Bulls are trying to break the bank with their recruitment spree tho πŸ’ΈπŸ˜ think this move could be a good step forward for Quirke πŸ‘

I mean, Raffi Quirke's leaving Sale Sharks to join Newcastle Red Bulls is a bit of a surprise, don't you think? He was struggling with injuries and getting left out by Gus Warr, but then he gets his England squad spot back and suddenly it's the end. Two years with the Red Bulls seems like a good move for him, but I'm not convinced they can compete with Sale's new signings...

πŸ€” just read that raffi quirke is leavin sale sharks and i gotta say its sad cuz he's been doin really well lately πŸš€ 2yrs at newcastle red bulls sounds like a big change tho πŸ”„ maybe its time for him 2 see what else the sport has 2 offer? 🀝 alex sanderson seems like a cool dude btw πŸ‘

omg i just watched this rugby game with my bros last weekend πŸ‰πŸ˜‚ anyway back to quirke... i feel bad for him cuz he's been hurt like so much and now he's gotta move on πŸ€• but i guess 2 years at newcastle sounds like a good deal? is raffi gonna be able to lead them to victory tho? πŸ˜‚ what do u think bout the sale sharks squad tho? they just got some awesome players... πŸ€”

omg u guys can't believe raffi quirke left sale sharks tho 🀯 i've been saying it for ages he needed a change of environment and now he's off to newcastle 🦊 hopefully hes gonna smash it there!Sale sharks is def feelin it though, all these fresh faces are gonna take em to the next level πŸ’ͺ i mean quirke was having some tough times with injuries but he's on fire now πŸ’₯ lets see how his game develops in nc 🀞

aww man πŸ€• i feel so bad 4 raffi quirkie... he's been thru soo much w/ injuries & getting left out of the team it's no wonder he's lookin 4 a fresh start @ newcastle red bulls 🏰πŸ’ͺ this 2-year deal is def gonna bring him lots of success & i'm sure hes gonna make the most of it πŸŽ‰ but at the same time, it's sad 2 c him goin out of sale sharks... they're losin a talented player πŸ˜” still, i'm sure he'll always be grateful 4 the opportunities he had @ sale & i hope his next chapter brings him all the happiness & fulfillment he deserves 🌟

So Sale Sharks just lost one of their best players πŸ€”... Quirke's exit marks a big blow for them, especially with all the new talent they've signed up recently πŸ˜…. On the other hand, it'll be interesting to see how Quirke performs at Newcastle Red Bulls - will he thrive in a new environment? πŸ°πŸ‰ He's had some ups and downs this season, but that recent run of form was pretty impressive πŸ’ͺ. Can't say I'm surprised he'd want out after all the injuries and being overlooked for Scotland squad spots πŸ˜”... guess he's looking to make a name for himself in England rugby now πŸ”₯.

Scrum-half drama 🀯! I mean, Raffi Quirke has been injury-prone at Sale Sharks, but he's finally found form again πŸ’ͺ. 24 years old and already getting offers from top clubs? Not bad for a young lad πŸ˜…. Newcastle Red Bulls just lost a star player in the off-season πŸ€”... maybe they didn't get as strong as everyone thought πŸ“Š.

Did you see those stats on Sale's squad changes? All-Black Hoskins Sotutu is gonna be a game-changer πŸ”₯! Josh Hodge and Rusi Tuima are all-star signings πŸ‘. Quirke's departure is a shame, but it'll be interesting to see how he adapts in Newcastle πŸ“.

Graph time πŸ“Š: average attendance for Sale Sharks has been declining over the last 3 seasons ⬇️. Maybe they need some fresh blood like Quirke? πŸ€” The transfer market is always full of surprises... will Quirke bring success to Newcastle? Only time will tell πŸ•°οΈ!

just got the news about Raffi Quirke leaving Sale Sharks πŸ€”, feels like such a shame considering all the talent they've brought in recently πŸ”„. still gotta respect the kid's decision tho, he's been open about wanting a new challenge & environment πŸ’ͺ. hope he brings some glory to Newcastle Red Bulls πŸ”₯, but it's definitely gonna be an interesting 2 years for the scrum-half πŸ‘€!

This is gonna be a tough one for Sale Sharks... Quirke's departure is a big blow, especially with all these new signings they've made. I think they were really relying on him, especially after those injuries he had. πŸ€• But at the same time, you gotta respect Quirke's decision to try and find success elsewhere. He deserves it, especially if Newcastle Red Bulls are willing to offer him a two-year deal. It's gonna be interesting to see how he adjusts to his new team... might be able to get even better? πŸ€”

I'M A LITTLE BIT SAD TO SEE RAFFI QUIRKE LEAVING SALE SHARKS, I MEAN HE'S BEEN THROUGH SOME TROUBLE WITH INJURIES AND IT'S NOT EASY FOR HIM TO GET PLAYTIME, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHY HE WANTS A NEW CHALLENGE AND ENVIRONMENT. NEWCASTLE RED BULLS SEEMS LIKE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR HIM TO BRING SUCCESS TO A CLUB THAT REALLY NEEDS HIM NOW

omg did u know that salford has this awesome street art scene? 🀯 i went there last yr and saw some incredible murals on the warehouses...anyway back to raffi quirke, gotta say i'm a bit sad he's leaving sale, but i guess 2 yrs is a decent chunk of time for him to bring success to newcastle 😊 they've got some talented players now. speaking of which have u tried those new craft beers from the brewery in salford? πŸΊπŸ‘

Ugh, another talented player leaving Sale Sharks... πŸ€• Like, I get it, they're rebuilding or whatever, but can't we just keep them all? 😩 Raffi Quirke was really starting to come into form and now he's off to Newcastle Red Bulls? πŸ’” It's like the club is constantly losing its best players. And don't even get me started on how hard it must be for Alex Sanderson to find new talent... 🀯 I mean, those additions they made are cool and all, but they just can't replace Quirke. 😐

I'm not sure I'm going to miss Quirke at Sale... don't get me wrong, he's had some great moments on the pitch, but that guy's been carrying injuries around like a bad habit since he joined. Still, you can feel for him - playing for England is a big deal, and getting called up again after being hurt out was definitely a confidence booster. But now it looks like he's off to Newcastle Red Bulls... who are they gonna put behind the scrum?
