The fact that it all went down just before the 2016 election makes you wonder if there was any direct connection between these payments and his presidential campaign.It's also interesting that Cohen, his lawyer, played such a key role in this scheme. I guess you could say he was the mastermind behind it all. But the thing is, this doesn't necessarily mean Trump did anything wrong... or does it? The investigators seem to think so, but we'll have to see how the case plays out.
What's also worth noting is that these charges are quite specific - it's not just a general allegation of wrongdoing. There are actual numbers and dates involved here. So I suppose we can take this one step at a time...

Can't believe this guy is still trying to spin stuff in public. I mean, come on 34 felony charges? That's serious business! He thought he could just pay off people to keep quiet about some dirty secrets and get away with it? Newsflash: that's not how the game works! The fact that his lawyer set up a shell company to do all this behind the scenes is just icing on the cake. And $500k is no joke either, that's like 3 year's worth of average American salary
