And don't even get me started on the whole Michelin star thing... celebrity chefs trying to make potatoes sound fancy just 'cause there's a glut going on. On the other hand, I do love that people are rediscovering old recipes and appreciating the humble spud for its nutritional value. Vitamin C and potassium, yeah, we should be eating more of those! But let's not get carried away with the hype...
they got a MASSIVE potato surplus & instead of just sellin it, some local farmer is GIVING AWAY THOUSANDS OF SPUDS FOR FREE 
like soup kitchens & non-profits r gettin the benefit from it too! 
And guess what? The 4000 Tonnes operation has brought back all sorts of potato fun facts - did u know Frederick II made potatoes a staple food in Prussia way back in the 18th century? 
now celeb chefs are even makin' recipes with roasted peels & vinaigrettes... but environmentalists r warnin us not to overdo it cuz of market oversaturation 
still, who wouldn't wanna jump on this spud bandwagon?!
