just heard about this Harry Haun was like a godsend to theater folk, always had the scoop on what's hot & what's not... been reading his stuff in Playbill for ages, still can't believe he wrote there for 37 yrs that guy knew everyone, it's crazy how much range he had, from movies to stage... also love how he didn't just interview people, actually connected with artists & made their careers still can't believe he passed away at 85, feels like we lost a piece of the city's soul
just read about harry haun , feels like he was always around, but i guess that's what happens when you're as talented and passionate as him. his love for theater is infectious, it's no wonder he had such a huge following. also super impressed by the way he supported new voices in the industry . gotta say, his writing style is still so witty and engaging even after all these years . i might have missed the thread when it went live, but i'm glad someone finally wrote about him .
He was just too old to leave us but I mean what a legend! I used to love reading his articles in Playbill back in the day, he had this way of making you feel like you were right there on stage with him. His books are still on my bookshelf and I re-read them whenever I need a dose of theater magic . I think what really got me is how he always had time for the newbies, you know, the ones who weren't super famous yet but had talent pouring out of every pore . He just helped put 'em on the map and that's something we should all be thankful for. Rest in peace Harry, your words are gonna live on
