Removing US as World Cup host would be eminently sad – and entirely justified | Alexander Abnos

ummm so like i was watching some vids on youtube and did you guys know that there's this super cute cat named gudetama and it's just sleeping all day lololol what does the world cup even have to do with cats 🐈😴 anyway back to the topic like is america really going to host the world cup or are they gonna cancel it because of trump's dad issues i dont get why we need to know this info tho 🤔

I'm getting a bad vibe from this whole situation 🤕. Hosting a major international event like the World Cup in a country with such a tumultuous government is just asking for trouble. I'm not saying it's going to ruin the tournament or anything, but it's hard to shake off the feeling that it could all go sideways. And you're right, the optics of having an American president who's been pretty vocal about...let's just say, "questioning" certain groups is pretty dodgy. I mean, can you imagine having players from countries with, shall we say, "checkered pasts" with the US government feeling welcome and safe? It's like putting a Band-Aid on a bullet wound 🤠.

Man I'm low-key worried about the US hosting the 2026 World Cup 🤔... all this drama with Trump and immigration raids is kinda bad mojo for a country trying to show off its soccer chops 🏈. I mean, can we really separate the beautiful game from all the controversy surrounding the host nation? 🤷‍♂️ FIFA's whole "football as a unifying force" vibe seems like it's getting watered down by all this negativity 🌪️... hope they find a way to make it work tho 💪
