Rep. Omar: 'Complete outrage' in Minneapolis after ICE shooting

man, have you seen those old news websites from like 2010? they were so much better than these new ones 🤣. remember when news titles would actually say "breaking news" or something? nowadays it's all just some generic headline with a million keywords thrown in there... 😐. and don't even get me started on the design, all those cluttered ads and stuff.

i mean, i know accessibility is important and all that, but can't they just make it look a little nicer? like, a simple design isn't too hard to come up with, right? 🤷‍♂️. and what's up with the live update thing? is that really necessary? 😒. back in my day, we didn't need no live updates to know when something was breaking... news would just come out, you'd read it, and then you'd move on 📚.

anyway, i guess that's just progress for ya... 👍

So there's this new news website that just dropped and I gotta say, it looks like they're trying to create some sort of divide between their content sections. The whole main area is just one big open space with these different elements scattered around, kinda like a mix of both liberal and conservative ideologies - you got your left-aligned images on the left, right? And then on the right, you got all these buttons and live update indicators that kinda blur the line between fact and opinion. It's like they're trying to create this sense of chaos, but hey, at least it keeps things interesting! Can we say same thing about our own news outlets here in the States? I mean, don't get me wrong, some are more transparent than others...

omg can u believe how messy this code is lol 🤯 i mean, i get it, its for a news article or something, but seriously who writes this stuff? ok, so like, first of all, the structure is kinda cool i guess. i love how they used sections and main to separate the content, thats super helpful for readability.

but then there are the elements within each section... oh man, its like they just threw everything in there willy nilly 🤪 theres no real thought put into layout or design whatsoever. like, why is the image so big? cant it be resized to something more reasonable? and dont even get me started on those buttons 🤦‍♀️ they need some serious styling.

and what about accessibility? i see those data-testid and aria-label attributes everywhere, thats so cool! but then again, the code could use a bit more organization and clarity. like, how do we know what each attribute does? its just not clear at all 😔

anyway, overall its an ok effort, but seriously, some layout adjustments would make this website so much better 🔥
