I'm literally shook by this news
- it's crazy how people can justify taking away women's right to vote just because they're women. I've seen some weird stuff in school, but this is on a whole other level
. If we start to believe that women are "intellectually and morally unfit" for citizenship, where does it end? It's like, we have girls who are super smart and passionate about social justice, and now they're being belittled just because of their gender
.
I remember when I was in my GCSE history class, we studied the women's suffrage movement, and it was so inspiring to see how far we've come. It's sad that some people are trying to take away from all that progress
. We need to stand up against this kind of toxic attitude towards women's rights and remind everyone that equality is for everyone
.
I'm not sure what's more disturbing - the fact that some politicians are openly advocating for women's voting rights to be restricted, or the fact that some people are actually buying into this sexist ideology
. We need to educate ourselves and others about the importance of equal rights and opportunities for all citizens
.
