Ritz peanut butter crackers recalled nationwide due to labeling error on some packages

US Food and Drug Administration Issues Recall of Ritz Peanut Butter Crackers Due to Labeling Error

A nationwide recall has been issued for Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches due to a labeling error that could lead to serious allergic reactions. The products, manufactured in the United States, were sold across the country and may have misleading labels indicating that they are cheese when, in fact, they contain peanut butter.

According to federal health officials, individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts should not consume these products and discard them immediately. So far, there have been no reported illnesses associated with this recall, but health experts urge caution.

The affected cartons include:

* 8-pack Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwich
* 20-pack Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwich
* 40-pack Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwich
* 20-pack Ritz Filled Cracker Sandwich Variety Pack

These products were sold nationwide and are not subject to any other Mondelēz Global LLC recalls.

Consumers can check the "Best When Used By" date on the package and look for the plant code to determine if their product is affected. For a full list of recalled products, visit the FDA's alert page.

In light of this recall, it is essential for individuals with peanut allergies to be vigilant about checking the labels of their food products before consumption.

I'm so sorry I missed this thread earlier 🙈... just saw that Ritz Peanut Butter Crackers got recalled due to a labeling mistake... like, who checks those things? 🤔 I mean, I've had some close calls with food allergies in the past and it's always a good reminder to double check labels. I'm glad they're being proactive about this though - it's better safe than sorry when it comes to food allergies 😊. Mondelēz Global LLC should really get their act together tho... how do you even miss that kind of mistake? 🤷‍♀️

Omg I just saw that Ritz Peanut Butter Crackers are being recalled 🤯 like what's wrong with those things? I remember buying them last week and not even thinking twice, but I guess you can't always trust a label... my friend has a severe peanut allergy and she was super worried about this recall 😬 anyway, it just makes me wanna call up the company and ask what happened 📞 is it that hard to get labels right? 🤷‍♀️

Ugh 🤯 I mean, what's next? Are they gonna start putting chocolate in our Oreos? 😂 Just kidding, sorta... but seriously, can't they just get it right for once? I'm so done with these labeling errors and recalls. My grandma was allergic to peanuts and this would've made her life a nightmare. We need better quality control, you know? 🤦‍♀️ It's just common sense. And what's up with the FDA not catching this before it hit stores? 🤔 Not sure if I'm gonna be checking those labels as closely from now on... 😬

Ugh, can you believe this? 🤯 They're selling these peanut butter crackers as cheese sandwiches?! That's just crazy talk! I'm so glad they're recalling them, but I mean, how do you even test for that kinda thing? It's like, super obvious to me that it's peanut butter... not cheese. 😂 And what if someone with a real allergy had one of these and freaked out because their body just reacted wrong? That would be terrible. 🤕 I'm glad no one has gotten sick yet, but yeah, let's all just double check our snacks for a sec to make sure we're not eating any fake cheese sandwiches 😂

I'm kinda surprised that it took this long to notice an error on those crackers 😐 they're like, everywhere! anyway, my little sister has a severe peanut allergy and I always freak out when she eats any kind of peanut butter product. so yeah, it's good that the FDA is taking action here 👍

.. think about it... we're always so focused on getting what we want, when we want it, but sometimes life takes a step back and reminds us that our desires can be a risk 🤯. Like, these people are just trying to live their lives, grab a quick snack, and suddenly they're faced with this huge decision: do I take the risk of an allergic reaction or play it safe? It's like, we're always walking on thin ice, waiting for that one slip-up that can change everything ⚖️.

And what does this say about our society? We rely so heavily on convenience and instant gratification, but at what cost? The labels are misleading, the products get made without our knowledge... it's like, where's the accountability in all of this? 🤔. I guess what I'm trying to say is that we need to be more mindful of what we're putting into our bodies, and also think about the systems that allow these mistakes to happen 😬.

I'm so glad they're taking action on this 😊. It's crazy that there was a labeling error that could put people's lives at risk 🤯. I mean, you can't just assume that because it says 'cheese' on the label, it's not got peanuts in it 🤔. I've had friends who have severe peanut allergies and they're always super cautious when it comes to new food products. This recall is a great reminder for everyone to double-check those labels 👀. Mondelēz Global LLC should really be more careful with their labeling process ⏰. It's not worth the risk of someone having a serious allergic reaction 💔. I just hope no one has to deal with that 😕.

omg did u no that 1 in 50 ppl hv a life threathning peanut allergy 🤯 like ritz just recalled like every pack of peanut butter crackers everywhere lol they got the dates & codes so u can check ur fave snack but idk why it took them this long to notice the tiny label mistake 🙄 anyway lets hope no 1 gets sick from eating pb crackers thinking its cheese 🤪 stats say: in 2022 alone, 3.4 million ppl hv allergic reactions 2 peanut products 🚨 42% of those allergies are severe & life threathning 😷 anyhoo just remember: if u got a peanut allergy dont be a fool & check the label duh 💯

Ugh 🤦‍♀️, another one of these recalls just popped up and I'm like "seriously?!". I mean, can't they get it together? 😒 First it's peanut butter sandwiches, now it's like they're trying to mess with people's allergies left and right... 🙅‍♂️

I feel bad for the folks who are allergic, but at the same time, I'm like "come on, people! Check the labels already!" 🤔 It's not that hard. But you know what? Maybe this recall is a good thing in disguise? Maybe it'll get more people thinking about their allergies and taking precautions... 💡

Anyway, just a heads up to all my friends out there with peanut allergies - if you see these packs floating around, grab 'em and toss 'em. Better safe than sorry 🤷‍♀️.

Ugh I just ate an entire pack of those Ritz Peanut Butter Crackers thinking they were cheese 🤦‍♂️ and now I'm freaked out... like seriously, who checks the label on a snack that's been sitting on my shelf for months? 🤔 Can you imagine if someone with a peanut allergy had one of these? 😨 So yeah, big recall is definitely needed here. I guess it's always good to check those "Best When Used By" dates and plant codes now... just in case 🙃

🤯 I mean, come on! A labeling error can lead to serious allergic reactions and now these popular crackers are being recalled across the country 🚨. It's crazy how a simple mistake like this can put people's lives at risk. As someone who's always on the go, it's not just about me but also my loved ones with food allergies 🤝. I guess this is a good reminder to double-check those labels and be extra cautious when it comes to our health 🧠. Mondelēz Global LLC should definitely take responsibility for this mistake 😊.

🤦‍♂️ The recent recall of Ritz Peanut Butter Crackers due to a labeling error is super concerning. I mean, can you even imagine if someone with a life-threatening peanut allergy was like "oh cool, I'll just chow down on some crackers" only to find out they're not what they thought? 🤯 It's crazy how one little mistake can have serious consequences for people's health.

I'm glad the FDA is stepping in and taking action, but it's also a big wake-up call for companies like Mondelēz to double-check their labeling. I mean, come on, how hard is it to get that right? 😒 It's just another reminder of how important it is for consumers to be vigilant about what they're putting in their bodies, especially if they have food allergies.

And can we talk about how frustrating this must be for people who already have to deal with anxiety about eating out or trying new foods because of their allergy? 🤕 It's like, can't we just trust that the labels are accurate and move on?

I don’t usually comment but... seriously, how did they mess up something so obvious? I mean, if you're putting peanut butter on crackers, it's gotta be peanut butter, right? 🤦‍♂️🍪 It's just common sense. And now people have to deal with the hassle of checking labels and potentially avoiding food that could cause an allergic reaction. It's just a big headache all around.

Ugh, another major brand getting it wrong 🤦‍♂️! I mean, come on, how hard is it to label something correctly? You'd think a big company like Mondelēz would have better quality control in place 🤔. And now people's lives could be at risk due to a peanut butter allergy mistake 😬. It's just so frustrating when you're just trying to enjoy a simple snack and then you realize you've got a serious allergic reaction brewing inside you 💉. Can't they just get it right for once? 🙄

I'm so annoyed right now! Can't they just double-check the labeling? Like, I get it, mistakes happen but this one could be super deadly 🤯😡. And what's worse is that people might not even know to look for those plant codes or "Best When Used By" dates... my friend's little sibling has a severe peanut allergy and I just can't imagine if they got their hands on these crackers 😩💔. We need more warnings on the packaging, like an alarm sound or something! 👀🚨
