Rodri: Man City midfielder 'suffering' and 'struggling' after injury setback

Pep Guardiola has revealed that Manchester City midfielder Rodri is "suffering" and struggling to return from a hamstring injury. The 29-year-old Spain international picked up the issue when he lasted just 22 minutes in a match against Brentford on October 5, and despite being substituted out of the game, his injury worries have persisted ever since.

Rodri has seen limited action for City over the past two months, appearing as a late substitute in one match and starting only eight Premier League and Champions League games so far this season. The Spain international's situation is complicated by his previous injuries - he suffered a serious knee injury in September 2024 that kept him out of action for almost the entire last season.

Guardiola expressed his desire to get Rodri back on the pitch as soon as possible, citing the midfielder's importance to the team. "Do you know what it means playing without the best player in the world two seasons ago?" Guardiola said. "Our main player, when we won the Treble and playing 70 games." Despite Rodri's struggles with fitness, Guardiola believes his player is still capable of making a huge impact on the pitch.

Rodri has been hailed by City fans for his exceptional skill and performance in recent years. The midfielder played an integral role in Spain's European Championship victory earlier this year and was even awarded the Ballon d'Or in 2024, beating out several other top players to claim the prestigious award.

The situation with Rodri serves as a reminder of the risks and unpredictability that come with being a professional footballer. Despite Guardiola's efforts to minimize the risk of further injury, Rodri's struggles highlight the challenges faced by footballers in maintaining their health while still performing at an elite level.

Omg, this is crazy 🀯! I mean, have you seen Rodri's stats over the past two years? 1.5 goals and 10 assists in 40 games with Manchester City - that's insane! πŸ”₯ He's been one of the top midfielders in the league for sure!

But seriously though, it's scary how quickly injuries can pile up. His knee injury last year was super bad, and now this hamstring issue... πŸ€• I hope he gets back on the pitch soon because we need him to perform like he did that European Championship winning season with Spain!

Guardiola is right tho - Rodri is the engine room of Manchester City's team! Without him, they're just a different beast altogether. Let's all wish Rodri a speedy recovery and get him back in action ASAP! πŸ’ͺ

Ugh man, this is like when I was watching all these old episodes of "Invader Zim" and my dad would always be like "oh yeah, I used to watch that show too!" πŸ˜‚ Meanwhile, Rodri's been dealing with injuries for like 2 years now and you're still trying to get him back on the pitch? πŸ€• What's up with that? And Guardiola is just being so extra by saying he's the best player in the world two seasons ago... that was ages ago! πŸ˜‚ He's got some points, though - Rodri is a super talented guy and it's tough to maintain your form when you're always dealing with injuries. It's like when I'm watching old "Power Rangers" episodes and I'm all nostalgic about them, but then my grandma is like "you know what would be really cool? If they just got a new power ranger that wasn't so lame!" 🀣

Ugh, can't believe Pep is playing around with our hopes πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, we all know how fragile Rodri's body is πŸ”₯. One wrong move and he's out for months... again 😩. I'm not saying he's not capable of making a comeback, but come on, Pep! We need to think about the bigger picture here πŸ“Š. He's been injured for like 6 months already, how many more times can we afford to take him off the pitch? πŸ’Έ. And don't even get me started on the Ballon d'Or πŸ˜‚... what a joke when he can barely play a full game without getting hurt πŸ˜…. Can't wait to see if he's back in action anytime soon, but not holding my breath πŸ€”.

πŸ€• This is really bad news for Man City πŸ†! Rodri has been a rock solid player for them and now he's struggling with another injury πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. It's crazy how one minute you're on top of your game, and the next you're sidelined because of an injury πŸ’”. I'm sure Pep Guardiola is itching to get him back on the pitch ASAP ⏱️. The thought of a team without its best player is like a punch in the gut πŸ₯Š. You can't deny Rodri's skills and achievements, from winning the European Championship to taking home that Ballon d'Or trophy in 2024 πŸ’₯. Now, it's just a waiting game for fans who are eagerly anticipating his return πŸ•°οΈ. Fingers crossed he comes back stronger than ever πŸ’ͺ!

omg u guys gotta feel bad for rodri πŸ€• he's been through so much with his injuries and now this hammy strain is throwing him off πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ pep guardiola is trying to be supportive but we all know how tough it is 2 come back from major injuries πŸ’ͺ like pep said, having your main player out for a bit can throw off ur whole strategy & team dynamic 🀝 i mean we all love watching rodri play, he's so talented πŸ™Œ let's hope he gets back on track ASAP πŸ†

man this is crazy 🀯 rodri is like the heart and soul of man city right now... i mean dont get me wrong he was having a killer season last year but now hes down with another injury already 😞 its like his body cant take the stress or something... pep guardiola is trying his best to keep him fit but honestly its hard when u got an injury track record like that πŸ€• what really worries me is whats gonna happen if he goes out for good? we need that midfield stability in the premier league πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ

πŸ€• this is so frustrating for city fans πŸ†, rodri was unstoppable last season & his return from injury is taking way longer than expected πŸ•°οΈ... coach pep is right tho, he's a game-changer when he's fit πŸ”„, but it's getting old seeing him struggle with fitness πŸ”₯... hope he can get back to his old self soon πŸ’ͺ

Ugh, I feel bad for Rodri πŸ€•... I know he's one of City's most skilled players and fans love him, but come on, a hamstring injury is no joke 😬. I get that Guardiola wants to get him back on the pitch ASAP, but we gotta think about his health here πŸ™. He was already struggling with his knee last season and now this... it's like he's cursed ⚠️. I'm sure City will do everything they can to help him recover, but it's just frustrating when talented players are held back by injuries πŸ’”. Maybe Guardiola should consider giving him a break for a bit instead of rushing him back? Just saying πŸ€”.

man rodri's been down since last season πŸ€•. his injuries are like, really worrying for him and for the team πŸ€”. i get pep wants to get him back out there ASAP but u can't rush these types of injuries πŸ’¨. it's not just about getting on the pitch, it's about coming back strong and not re-injuring himself again 😬. rodri's got a big reputation now, like he's the best player in the world 🌟, so pressure's on him to perform and stay healthy. gotta respect pep's faith in him though πŸ‘Š
