Running the rails: Brooklyn man finishes quest to jog along every NYC subway line

Brooklyn Model Completes Unprecedented Subway Jog Along Entire NYC System

Thai Richards, a seasoned ultra-marathon runner from Brooklyn, has finished an extraordinary quest: jogging alongside every single subway line in New York City. The 35-year-old model took on the challenge two years ago, motivated by a desire to explore his lifelong home and document the journey with his online followers.

Richards began his epic journey along the A train's nearly 34-mile stretch from Inwood to the Rockaways in the fall of 2023. He then followed the F train for about 27 miles through Manhattan and Coney Island, marking off another line every month or so. His final run took him on a 23-mile trek alongside the 4 train in the pouring rain from Woodlawn in the Bronx to Crown Heights, where he resides.

Throughout his journey, Richards incorporated breaks to drink beer and capture updates for his thousands of social media followers. He often exclaimed over each milestone, proudly declaring that "running is easy, life is hard." The model's dedication was impressive, considering the obstacles he faced, including being unable to run through the subway's East River tunnels.

Richards' subway runs have provided a unique perspective on New York City's history, with him frequently spouting train facts and anecdotes about the city's evolution. He has gained an appreciation for how neighborhoods change over time, often commenting that history helps us understand where we are now. Richards stopped at several notable landmarks during his final run, including Yankee Stadium.

On Tuesday night, as he completed the final leg of his journey down Eastern Parkway toward Utica Avenue, there were no crowds to greet him. However, Richards pulled out his phone to record a video for his online followers, proudly declaring that he had "run it all" and completing his epic subway jog along the entire NYC system.

I don’t usually comment but... dude, I'm seriously impressed by Thai Richards' dedication! 🀩 I mean, can you imagine running 34 miles of subway lines straight? That's mental πŸ’‘. And what's even crazier is that he was documenting it all on social media for his thousands of followers. I love how he'd do breaks to grab a beer and share his progress with them. It's like he's sharing this epic adventure with us, the online audience πŸ“Έ.

I'm also kinda fascinated by how he learned so much about NYC history through these runs. Train facts and anecdotes? Who knew trains could be so fascinating? πŸ˜‚ It's awesome that he gained a new appreciation for how neighborhoods change over time. He's definitely proved that running can be a great way to explore your city.

Anyway, congrats to Thai Richards on completing this incredible challenge! πŸŽ‰ I'm gonna go take a deep breath and try to run 34 miles myself... maybe not, lol πŸ˜‚

I'm lovin' this dude's dedication 🀩! I mean, 35 miles of straight jogging on the subway? That's insane πŸ’₯! You gotta respect the fact that he took a break here and there to grab a beer, but for the most part, he was all about crushin' his goal πŸ’ͺ. And can we talk about how cool it is that he documented the whole thing for us to see? I'm sure it's been super entertaining for his followers πŸ“Ή.

But what really gets me is when he says "running is easy, life is hard". Preach, bro! Life can be tough, and it takes a lot of determination to push through the hard stuff. And I love that he's got an appreciation for history and how it shapes our city. That's some deep thinking right there πŸ€“.

Anyway, congrats to Thai Richards on completing this epic subway jog! You go, dude! πŸ‘

just incredible 🀯 what an amazing feat by Thai Richards! 2 years of dedication and consistency is no joke, he's truly earned his place in NYC history πŸ™Œ I can only imagine how tough those long runs were, especially navigating through crowded stations during rush hour 😬 but the fact that he was able to document it all on social media and share it with his thousands of followers is just genius πŸ’‘. And I love what he said about life being hard, it's so true πŸ€ͺ. He's not only a great ultra-marathon runner, but also an awesome storyteller, sharing bits of NYC history along the way πŸ“š. Can't wait to see what he does next! πŸ’ͺ

Yaaas, 35-year-old Thai Richards is literally my ultimate superhero 🀩! I mean, can you even imagine running through every single subway line in New York City? It's mind-blowing thinking about how much time and effort he put into documenting his journey for all of us to see. And let's be real, who else gets to run alongside the 4 train in the pouring rain and still manage to make it look good πŸ’¦? I love how he incorporated breaks to drink beer – that's just genius 🍺. He's definitely a true New Yorker, exploring his hometown like we all wish we could πŸ‘€. And can we talk about how cool it is that he shared so many interesting facts and anecdotes along the way? The guy's got skills! πŸ’₯

just when u think nyc is back to normal 🀯, this guy decides to go on a crazy 4-yr marathon of jogging every single subway line. i mean, 35 yrs old and still got it, but what about our poor subway tunnels tho? he had to stop running through em πŸ’¦πŸš§. and the beer breaks are just icing on the cake 🍺. love how he appreciates history and thinks it helps us understand where we are now πŸ€”, but let's be real, nyc has been changing for decades, maybe he was just running in circles πŸ˜‚. congrats to him tho, 4 yrs is a looong time to be out there πŸ’ͺ.

I gotta say, I'm both impressed and frustrated with this whole thing. On one hand, Thai Richards is an ultimate example of what can be achieved when you put your mind to something - 3,000 miles of jogging through NYC's subway system? That takes dedication and grit! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

On the other hand, I think it raises some interesting questions about the value we place on individual achievements versus the needs of our communities. I mean, what about all the people who rely on public transportation to get around the city every day? Did Richards' journey really make a significant impact on their lives?

And let's not forget about the environmental implications of his runs - 3,000 miles of carbon emissions from one person? That's not exactly eco-friendly. I think we need to start having some tough conversations about individualism vs. collectivism and our responsibility to our planet.

It's definitely an interesting time to be talking about the value of community over personal achievement... πŸ€”
