San Jose high school students can enroll in career tech classes

Students in San Jose's high schools can now enroll in career-technical classes, including cutting-edge programs like AI engineering and a pre-apprenticeship in metals technology.

Every year, nearly 1,500 students from over 45 schools in Santa Clara County attend the Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE) center, earning college credits, industry certifications, and valuable real-world experience that can help them secure higher education or a job after graduation. The school is open to students in Santa Clara County and provides free transportation to those attending San José Unified School District schools.

For the upcoming 2026-27 school year, SVCTE has introduced new courses, including an AI engineering program where students will design intelligent systems using Python coding and machine learning to solve real-world challenges. A new pre-apprenticeship in metals technology is also available, providing access to a Field Ironworkers Pre-Apprenticeship program approved by the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards.

For more information on SVCTE's course catalog, visit their website at https://bit.ly/4pzTuPm. Students can register through their home high school counselor and can expect a well-rounded education that prepares them for the workforce or further studies.

Additionally, San José City College Theater is hosting the Liberation Lens Film Festival in honor of Black History Month on February 4th at 6 p.m., featuring films such as "Glass Ceilings," "Reclaiming Our Humanity," and "Burning for Justice." Tickets are available online at https://bit.ly/45GdZ5H, with students showing a valid ID admitted for free.

Just great that the Silicon Valley Career Technical Education is adding more courses like AI engineering, it's about time we start preparing our kids for the tech industry 🤖... but what about the actual teachers and staff? Are they getting the training they need to keep up with these new programs? We don't want our students being thrown into a real-world work environment without knowing how to handle the pressure.

🤩 I'm so stoked about the new career-technical classes in San Jose's high schools! It's like, totally awesome that they're giving students the chance to learn AI engineering and pre-apprenticeship programs in metals tech - it's going to open up so many doors for them after graduation. And can you believe the SVCTE center is already helping over 1,500 students every year? 🙌 It's like, a game-changer for these kids' futures! Plus, they're making it free transportation from San José Unified School District schools - that's just amazing! 😊

🤦‍♂️ I'm just saying, have you seen the website for SVCTE? It's like they're trying to blind us with all the shiny new courses 🚀💻. An AI engineering program and a pre-apprenticeship in metals technology, wow, sounds impressive... but what about the details, man? How much time are we talking here? Are these courses gonna be just a few hours a week or full-on immersion programs? I need to know more before my kid starts paying for them 😬.

omg i'm so hyped about this new career-technical classes in san jose's high schools 🤩 they're finally making it easier for students to get into tech and industry jobs without having to go to college first 💻 and the fact that svcte is offering AI engineering and pre-apprenticeship programs is like, totally game changing 🚀 i'm all about giving back to my community and helping young people gain skills that will take them far in life 💪

I'm glad to see some schools are trying to level the playing field when it comes to career training 🤝. But have you seen how long the lines are at SVCTE? I mean, 1,500 students from over 45 schools is already a lot, but now they're adding more courses and people will just have to wait even longer to get in 🕰️. And what's with the transportation thing? Free for San José Unified School District schools only? That's not exactly inclusive, you know? 🚫

I'm really glad to see more schools like SVCTE popping up, you know? It's like, we're finally acknowledging that the future is all about tech and innovation, but what does it mean for our humanity? Are we just coding away and losing touch with what makes us human? I dunno... maybe AI engineering can be a tool to make our lives better, or maybe it'll just replace us 🤖. And these pre-apprenticeships in metals technology are cool too, but what about the social aspect of learning? Are we teaching our kids that community is just something you see on social media? I'm not saying SVCTE is bad, but we need to think deeper about what we're trying to achieve with this kind of education 🤔.

Man, I'm loving the fact that SVCTE is now offering those AI engineering classes 🤖! It's so cool that they're teaching kids how to design intelligent systems and use Python coding - it's like something out of a sci-fi movie. And the pre-apprenticeship in metals technology? That's gonna be huge for those students who want to get into trades. I'm talking 2026-27, that's the future we need more of!

And on a totally different note, have you checked out the Liberation Lens Film Festival at San José City College Theater? It's happening Feb 4th and it looks so dope 🎥. They're showing some powerful films about social justice and identity - I'm definitely down to check it out.

AI engineering classes? Sounds like a fancy way of saying " coding for fun". 🤔 I'm all for kids learning programming skills, but let's not forget about the practical stuff too... like how to fix a leaky faucet or build a simple website without breaking it. We're overemphasizing tech skills and underemphasizing essential life skills that'll really benefit them in the long run 🚧

Just got to know about SVCTE's new AI engineering course 🤖📚 is crazy how they're incorporating machine learning and python coding from the get go! I'm thinking of my niece who's in high school and she's super interested in tech, this could be a game changer for her future career. Anyone else know much about SVCTE or have connections with anyone who works there? 🤔 [https://bit.ly/4pzTuPm](https://bit.ly/4pzTuPm)

🤕 just found out that AI engineering classes might not be as cool as they seem... the programs are still super expensive and most of them don't even guarantee job placement after graduation 🤑💸, plus the course materials are already so outdated by the time you finish, it's like, what's the point? 🤔 also, the pre-apprenticeships in metals technology might be good on paper but the competition for those spots is insane and most students are gonna struggle to get in 🔒

omg i just found out about this amazing thing in san jose... like they're teaching AI engineering now 🤖💻 in high school? that's so cool! how do the students learn python coding and machine learning at such a young age tho? i remember when i was in high school, we were still stuck on using excel spreadsheets lol. can you imagine graduating from high school knowing how to make intelligent systems and get an internship or a job right after 🤑🎓 anyway, sounds like the silicon valley career technical education center is doing some awesome things...

OMG, AI engineering classes in high school?! That's like, the future is now lol! I'm both excited and terrified for these kids - they're gonna be designing intelligent systems and stuff in no time! 🤖📚 It's amazing that SVCTE is offering this as an option, though. The fact that it's free transportation from San José Unified School District schools is a huge plus too 🚌💕 I'm kinda worried about the whole "pre-apprenticeship" thing, though - what if they get stuck in the metals tech industry? 😂 But hey, at least there are options for those who want to explore other fields. And yay for the Liberation Lens Film Festival! It's so cool that San José City College Theater is hosting this event 🎥🎬

OMG is this awesome news!!! 💥 Career-tech classes in high school is like the best thing ever - I mean who doesn't want to learn how to code or work with metals when they're still in school? 🤖💪 My kid is only 10 and I'm already thinking about what he wants to do in life. The AI engineering program sounds so cool, I wonder if he'd be into it... 🤔 I just hope the schools are prepared to teach these new skills effectively, don't want my little one to fall behind when they get out there in the real world! 💼

just heard about this new SVCTE program 🤩 and I'm low-key hyped!!! 1,500 students from SJ high schools already attending? that's crazy! and these AI engineering and metals tech courses? game changer! our future tech leaders are being groomed in the SJ area 🙌. btw, have you heard about the Liberation Lens Film Festival happening at San José City College Theater in Feb? 🎥👍

omg have you seen the new courses at SVCTE? AI engineering is like totally going to change the game! can't believe they're teaching python coding and machine learning from scratch... that's lit! 🤖💻 also love that they're offering a pre-apprenticeship in metals technology, gotta give those students a head start on their careers. anyways, not sure about all these career-technical classes, but i guess it's better than just sitting in a regular classroom all day 😒

omg i'm so hyped about the new career tech classes in san jose 🤩! it's such a game changer for teens wanna learn about ai engineering and metals tech, lol who wouldn't wanna code like a pro or get their hands dirty with ironwork? 😂 anyway, SVCTE sounds like an awesome resource for students and i love that they offer free transportation 2 those in san jose unified schools 👍 cant wait 2 see what the future holds 4 these youngbloods 🎉

I mean, it's about time we get some career-technical classes in our high schools! I remember when I was in school, we didn't even have access to stuff like coding and machine learning 🤖. Now, these kids are gonna be engineers and tech wizards by the time they graduate 😂. It's amazing how far education has come.

But, you know what's really cool? That they're making it available for students in all of Santa Clara County for free 🚌. I mean, that's just awesome. My niece is actually one of those kids who got to go through SVCTE a few years ago and she said it totally changed her life 🙌.

And, oh man, the Liberation Lens Film Festival? That sounds like something my old school used to have back in the day...or should I say, it's making its comeback 💫! It's awesome that they're celebrating Black History Month with a film festival. Maybe we can even get some younger generation involved in this sort of thing 😊.

The expansion of career-technical classes in San Jose's high schools is a commendable initiative 🤓. By offering programs like AI engineering and pre-apprenticeships, the Silicon Valley Career Technical Education center is providing students with valuable skills and experience that can significantly enhance their employability and future prospects 💼. The fact that the school provides free transportation to students attending San José Unified School District schools is a thoughtful touch 👍.

It's also noteworthy that SVCTE has introduced new courses for the upcoming 2026-27 school year, including an AI engineering program that incorporates machine learning and Python coding 🤖. This can help prepare students for in-demand jobs in the tech industry and provide them with a competitive edge 💻.

The Liberation Lens Film Festival at San José City College Theater is another exciting event 🎥. By showcasing films related to Black History Month, the festival aims to promote diversity and representation on screen. It's heartening to see initiatives like this celebrating cultural heritage and promoting inclusivity ❤️.

🤦‍♂️ finally, some good news to brighten up my day. I mean, who needs extra credits or a job when you're already stuck in a 9-to-5 grind? But seriously, career-technical classes like AI engineering and pre-apprenticeship programs are actually kinda cool. At least the youngins will have a chance to level up their skills and maybe even avoid becoming another faceless drone in the corporate world 💻🔧
