San Jose: Police arrest Gilroy man in rash of vehicle burglaries

Man Arrested in Over 100 Vehicle Burglaries in North San Jose

Police in San Jose have arrested a 23-year-old Gilroy resident, who was already being held on unrelated charges, in connection with more than 100 vehicle burglaries that took place at four separate multi-family housing complexes over two days. The suspect's arrest marks the end of an extensive investigation by the San Jose Police Department's burglary unit.

The crimes occurred between November 8 and 9 at apartment complexes in North San Jose, with a total of 114 reports of vehicle break-ins filed with police. According to authorities, the suspect had entered the parking garages at the affected complexes, breaking into vehicles before fleeing the scene.

Detectives discovered the suspect's identity during their investigation, and he was subsequently arrested without incident. Police executed a search warrant at his home in Gilroy, uncovering evidence linking him to the burglaries.

The San Jose Police Department's coordinated effort with other agencies has led to a major breakthrough in the case, earning praise from top officials including Police Chief Paul Joseph, Mayor Matt Mahan, and City Councilwoman Jennifer Maguire. In a statement, they expressed gratitude for the collaborative work between patrol officers, burglary unit detectives, and the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.

The arrest serves as a reminder that law enforcement remains vigilant in protecting San Jose residents from crime, with Mayor Mahan noting, "San Josรฉ is the safest big city in the nation for a reason โ€” if you come to our city to commit a crime, you will be caught and pay the consequences."

OMG u guys this guy was so sneaky breaking into ppl's cars like 100 times ๐Ÿ˜ฑ what if he had hurt someone or taken some valuables that couldn't be replaced?! ๐Ÿคฏ at least the police were able to catch him, but still it's just crazy thinking about all those cars he broke into...anyway i hope this guy gets max time in prison ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ’ผ

๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ˜ฌ this is crazy! like over 100 vehicle burglaries? that's insane. i wonder how many people were affected by these thefts. and good on the cops for working together with other agencies to catch the guy. it's all about community safety, you know? ๐Ÿค mayor mahan saying san jose is the safest big city in the nation? that's a pretty bold claim... but if they're doing something right, kudos to them! ๐Ÿ‘

just read about this guy who did over 100 car break-ins and he's only 23 lol what's going on with kids these days? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ it's crazy how police were able to catch him so fast too. i remember when i was younger, we used to just put air fresheners in our cars to keep them smelling nice, not burglary-proof 'em ๐Ÿ˜‚ anyway, glad that justice was served and that the community is safe again ๐Ÿ™ the mayor seems like a cool dude too, not sure about the whole "safest big city" thing but i guess it's better than nothing ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿšจ just thinking about this makes me wonder how many times someone's gonna get caught out 'cause they thought they could just drive into an apartment complex and swipe some cars lol. i mean, I know it's not funny for the victims or anything, but like, come on. these burglars must've been really desperate to think that would be a good idea. ๐Ÿ˜’ the thing is, as long as we got people looking out for each other and reporting suspicious activity, crimes like this are gonna keep getting solved. so yeah, I'm glad the cops were able to catch the guy and put an end to it ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿšจ I mean, over 100 car break-ins? That's like me trying to count all my gaming console collectibles... I'll never get 'em all ๐Ÿ˜‚. Seriously though, it's crazy how this guy got away with it for so long! Guess you could say he was 'stealing the show' but not in a good way ๐Ÿคฃ. Kudos to the police department for cracking down and making sure San Jose stays safe โ€“ they're like the Avengers of law enforcement ๐Ÿ‘.

this is a total overkill tho... 114 reports of vehicle break-ins? it's just not that many. like, i get that some ppl got their stuff stolen but 100+? thats a lot of unnecessary resources being thrown at this case ๐Ÿค‘. plus, what about the ppl who actually live in these complexes? didnt they have anything better to do than report every single time something goes missing from their cars? seems like it's just an excuse for the cops to flex their muscles and prove a point ๐Ÿ˜’.

this is getting crazy!! like 100+ vehicle burglaries in one place? that's insane ๐Ÿคฏ i mean, i get it, some areas can be really tempting for thieves, but this is just ridiculous. glad they were able to catch the guy tho ๐Ÿ™Œ the fact that he was already being held on unrelated charges just makes it even more suspicious... how did they not catch on sooner? anyway, good job to the police department and all the other agencies who worked together to crack the case ๐Ÿ‘

can't believe they finally caught this guy! i mean, 100+ vehicle burglaries? that's insane. glad they were able to track him down and get evidence from his home. I'm sure it was a huge team effort though - all those agencies working together is pretty impressive. makes me happy to know our police department is doing their thing ๐Ÿ’ก

idk man... I'm like totally stoked that this guy got caught, but at the same time, it's kinda crazy how many cars he hit - 114?! that's wild ๐Ÿคฏ. like, what even drives someone to do something so reckless? was it just desperation or something? anywayz, gotta give props to the cops for gettin' him in a sniffin' distance and stuff... but like, shouldn't we be talkin' about how this guy got out there in the first place? how did he even know where these complexes were?! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿš—.

๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ˜• I'm not surprised to hear that some people think they can just drive into a city with no regard for others. 100+ car break-ins is just insane. It's like the person didn't even care if they got caught or not. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ At least the police were able to catch them and get evidence from their place... now maybe justice will be served. ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Just heard about this 23-yr-old Gilroy dude getting arrested for over 100 vehicle burglaries in North San Jose ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ˜ฌ. It's crazy how one person can cause so much damage. You gotta feel sorry for the victims who had their cars broken into and stuff taken. Glad that the police were able to catch him, though - it's a major breakthrough. I'm glad our local PD is doing its thing and keeping us safe ๐Ÿ’ช. The fact that multiple agencies worked together to crack the case is just awesome ๐Ÿค. Hope they get good justice for everyone involved ๐Ÿ™.

idk how authorities got this guy with 114 reports of vehicle break-ins just from one suspect lol but i guess they must've had some solid intel or something. it's kinda crazy that he was already being held on unrelated charges tho. seems like they really got a good tip and were able to catch him off guard ๐Ÿ˜…

๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ I'm shocked no one thought this guy was a major suspect from the start ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, 114 vehicle break-ins in 2 days? That's like, crazy town! How did he not get caught sooner with all those witnesses and surveillance cameras around ๐Ÿ“ธ. The police have been doing their thing, but it's also sad that people have to live like this - constantly worried about their cars being broken into ๐Ÿšซ. I hope the guy gets a good sentence, but also hope the community is able to recover from this ordeal ๐Ÿ’”.

this is just too suspicious ๐Ÿค”. like, how did they catch this guy in 2 days? seems kinda fast for a complex investigation ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ. i'm not saying the cops didn't do a good job or anything... but have you seen those 'collaborative efforts' speeches from the officials? always so rehearsed ๐Ÿ˜. and what's with all these multi-family housing complexes in North San Jose? just a coincidence that all these burglaries happened there? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ maybe it's not just about one bad apple, but more like... a pattern ๐Ÿ“Š

dang what a relief! 114 cases of vehicle break ins and they still managed to catch the guy after two days? that's insane. I'm glad they were able to link the evidence from his home to the crimes, makes sense now. i wonder how many of those vehicles got damaged or stolen... anyway, kudos to the police department for working together with other agencies to crack the case! ๐Ÿ‘
