Schools hit target to offer girls equal access to football three years early

OMG this is awesome news 🤩!! I'm so stoked for all those little girls getting to play footy and have equal access to it as the boys. It's crazy how much progress has been made in just 6 years, from 3k schools to over 20k now! 🚀 I remember watching the Lionesses play at Euro 2022 and being so inspired by Sarina Wiegman's speech, it was like she spoke directly to my heart 💖. Now we're seeing real change happen and I'm so grateful for people like Kelly Smith and Ian Wright who are advocating for girls' football. Fingers crossed they can hit that 90% target by 2028 🤞!

💪🏼 it's amazing to see how far they've come with getting more schools to offer equal access to football for girls! 2.6 million young girls now have the chance to play and it's really giving Kelly Smith goosebumps 😊. I mean, who wouldn't want to see their little girls out there kicking a ball around and having fun? 🏀💕 it's also great that we're seeing more focus on normalizing girls playing football like they're supposed to be doing it. no girl should ever feel like she can't join in because of some stupid barrier 💔. I'm sure it's not always easy, but the fact that Ian Wright said it's about making girls feel welcome and included is really inspiring 😊. anyway, let's keep pushing for more equal opportunities so we can see even more girls taking part in team sports 🎉👏

This is so cool 🤩! I mean, can you believe it? The FA has smashed their target three years early and now 90% of schools are offering equal access to football for girls. It's amazing to think about how far they've come since the Barclays Girls' Football in Schools network started six years ago. And now we're talking over 20k schools, which is insane! 🤯 The fact that 2.6 million girls have equal access to football in PE lessons is incredible, especially with a 31% increase from last season. I'm so proud of the FA for pushing for change and making it happen. It's not just about the Lionesses winning Euro 2022, but about normalizing girls playing football like they're meant to 🤸‍♀️💪
