Scottish Cup round-up: Celtic require extra time to book quarter-final spot as St Mirren, Dunfermline and Partick Thistle progress

Celtic Overcome Lethargy to Secure Scottish Cup Victory in Dramatic Comeback.

The Hoops' late drama saw them beat Dundee 2-1, with Junior Adamu's debut goal levelled the score before Sebastian Tounekti sealed victory just seconds into extra time. The match was played in front of a half-empty Celtic Park, where fans had boycotted the game as part of a protest against the club's board.

The team showed signs of lethargy until the late equaliser from Adamu sparked the crowd to rally behind them, and ultimately secure their spot in the quarter-finals. Manager Martin O'Neill expressed concern about the issue, stating that it can become "debilitating" for the team if not addressed.

Notable performances came from other teams, as St Mirren, Dunfermline Athletic, and Partick Thistle all secured victories to progress to the last eight of the competition. The results see Celtic join them in the quarter-finals, with their opponents yet to be confirmed.

In other match-ups, Dundee United and Rangers will face Spartans and Queen's Park, respectively, on Tuesday and Sunday, while Aberdeen and Stenhousemuir will meet Motherwell and Falkirk on Wednesday and Sunday.

๐Ÿคฏ I'm so stoked for the Celtic team! They were literally crawling in the beginning of that game but then this one goal sparked a total transformation ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’ช. It's like, you can't fake enthusiasm, right? And I love how their fans showed up (well, most of them) to support them despite having some concerns. It's about being present and supporting your team, even when things aren't going so well ๐Ÿ˜Š. The whole atmosphere at the game must've been electric once the crowd started cheering! ๐Ÿ‘

Omg did u see that Celtic game 2-1 win ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ† esp after all the drama with fans protesting ๐Ÿค•. I'm not surprised tho they came back like that. Lethargy can be super debilitating for athletes especially when ur whole team's on it ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’ช. Glad to see them bounce back & secure a spot in quarters! ๐ŸŽ‰ But yikes, half empty stadium is no joke ๐Ÿ˜” hope the fans' concerns get addressed ASAP ๐Ÿ‘

I'm so relieved Celtic managed to pull off that comeback win, their fans must have been literally on the edge of their seats! I mean, a half-empty stadium is no joke, but it's amazing how one goal can spark the whole crowd and turn it around. I do worry about the players' mental state though, if they're feeling drained like that during a match... manager O'Neill should definitely look into ways to boost morale and energy levels for those guys ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘

Ugh, this Scottish Cup stuff is all so unpredictable! I mean, Celtic was literally playing with a half-empty stadium because of some protest thingy... ๐Ÿคฏ It's like the fans just can't even be bothered to show up anymore. And then they go and win in extra time? Nice, I guess. But what's with the manager talking about lethargy like it's not the fans' fault or something ๐Ÿ™„ Can't the team just play well without having a bunch of disgruntled supporters at home? Anyway, glad Celtic made it to the quarter-finals, but I'm more interested in seeing how they do against their opponents. This Dundee United game looks pretty intense ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I'm surprised they actually won lol ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, it's not like they had nothing to lose playing in front of all those empty seats at Celtic Park... ๐Ÿ˜‚. The fact that the fans were protesting against the board just seemed like a way for them to make an excuse for losing. Like, if you can't handle the pressure of a packed stadium, how are you gonna win on the pitch? ๐Ÿค”. And yeah, I guess it's good that they showed some signs of life in the end, but overall, I'm just not buying it.

OMG, what a turn of events! ๐Ÿคฏ I was thinking they were done for but then Adamu scores that goal and it's like the whole crowd is lit ๐Ÿ”ฅ! Can't imagine how tough it must be to deal with fans protesting at home though... 0 likes from them might've thrown off their game. Glad Celtic managed to pull through tho, they deserve it after all the hard work. O'Neill's comments about the board make sense though, gotta get that team focused. ๐Ÿ˜…

๐Ÿค• what a joke the crowd was half empty it sounds like they were more interested in protesting than supporting their team lol meanwhile they managed to win the game but not before looking like they're about to quit ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ anyway congrats to Celtic i guess they showed some heart but its gonna be tough for them if they cant stay focused during games manager O'Neill needs to get his act together ASAP ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
