just saw the rankings for the top 100 female footballers of 2025 and I'm OBSESSED ! The Guardian made all the votes public and it's wild to see how close some players are . Like, Chloe Kelly is only 1 point behind Caroline Graham Hansen in 12th place . And Lia Wälti is just 2 points shy of making the top 100 . It's clear that these judges put a lot of thought into this list . The stats are crazy too - Rachel Daly and Mary Fowler have an average ranking of 25 , while Becky Sauerbrunn is at 32 . Pernille Harder is right in the middle with an average rank of 45 . The most interesting thing for me though is the score distribution : the top 5 players all scored above 35 points , while the bottom 20 are all under 25 points . Makes sense that the judges wanted to minimize bias and outliers . Can't wait to dive deeper into this data !

I'm so curious to know how they even narrowed it down from 127 experts I mean, what's the criteria for choosing the top female footballers? Is it just based on their skills on the field or is there other stuff too like their personality and social media following ? And omg I'm so glad we can see the individual voting records now! I was wondering who voted for Lia Wälti and why she didn't make the cut . Can someone explain to me how they decide on the ranking system tho? Like, do they use a special formula or just wing it?
