Senator says ICE 'attack dog' caused 'horrific' injuries to unresisting man as he was detained

US Senator Patty Murray has condemned the Trump administration after alleging that an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, often referred to as an 'attack dog', brutally attacked a 15-year-old undocumented immigrant.

Wilmer Toledo-Martinez, who is being held at the Northwest ICE processing center, suffered "horrific" injuries while in detention in November last year. According to Senator Murray, Toledo-Martinez was lured out of his home under false pretenses by an ICE agent posing as a construction worker and then released a dog which attacked him shortly after he stepped outside.

The senator claimed that Toledo-Martinez was not resisting arrest or attempting to flee when the dog attacked, but was instead left shaking and dizzy with vision blurring. Despite being in distress, he was denied medical care for hours before eventually receiving stitches, antibiotics, and additional medication at a hospital.

Senator Murray expressed outrage over the incident, calling on for Toledo-Martinez's immediate release. She stated that such actions by federal agents should shock the conscience of everyone and that she does not want to live in an America where agents can use attack dogs against peaceful residents with impunity and face no consequences.

The Department of Homeland Security has yet to respond to a request for comment regarding this incident. News of the attack comes amidst reports of other violent incidents involving ICE agents, including an incident in Vancouver where an agent appeared to run over a man's foot during an arrest, and US congresswoman Adelita Grijalva being sprayed with a chemical agent during a protest against a federal immigration raid.

OMG πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ, this is like totally unacceptable!!! The idea that some ICE agent would use a dog to attack a 15-yr-old kid is just crazy talk! πŸ•πŸ˜± I mean, what's next? Using police dogs on unarmed civilians? It's so wrong and inhumane. I'm all for keeping our borders safe, but this is not the way to do it. We need better training for these agents and more accountability for when they cross that line. πŸ’ͺ

I don’t usually comment but... this whole thing is super disturbing 🀯. An 15-year-old kid, just a teenager, gets attacked by an ICE agent with a dog and then no medical care for hours? It's absolutely unacceptable 😱. I mean, what kind of person does that? And to make matters worse, the department hasn't even commented on it... it's like they're trying to cover something up 🀐.

I don’t know about you guys but... it makes me question everything about our justice system and how we treat people who are just trying to live their lives. I mean, Wilmer Toledo-Martinez was just a kid who got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. He wasn't even resisting arrest or anything πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

I don’t usually get into politics but... this is one of those times where something needs to be said. We need more people like Senator Murray who are willing to speak out against these kind of incidents and demand justice for people like Wilmer. It's time for some accountability, you know? πŸ‘Š

😱 OMG, this is soooo unacceptable! I'm literally shaking thinking about that poor kid πŸ€• Wilmer Toledo-Martinez. The fact that an ICE agent was posing as a construction worker to lure him out of his home and then released a dog on him is just heartbreaking πŸ’”. And the worst part? He didn't even do anything wrong, he was just a 15-year-old trying to get by in this crazy country πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

I'm so glad Senator Patty Murray is speaking out against this horrific incident and demanding justice for Wilmer. We need more voices like hers who are willing to stand up for what's right, especially when it comes to protecting our most vulnerable citizens πŸ‘Š. This is a total slap in the face to everything America is supposed to stand for πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. I'm literally fuming over here! 😑

I'm not surprised by this crap... some people just think they can do whatever they want and get away with it πŸ™„. Like, what's the point of even having laws if you're just gonna ignore them? And ICE, seriously, who does that? They're supposed to be protecting us, but instead they're out there hurting innocent kids like this kid πŸ€•. It's just not right, and we need to do something about it... but I don't think anyone is really gonna listen, you know? Politicians are all about playing it safe and avoiding the controversy, that's why nothing ever changes πŸ’”.

I'm really shocked about this whole thing 😲. It sounds like the ICE agent was completely out of control and didn't care that they were putting this poor kid's life at risk. I mean, who does that? Using an attack dog to subdue someone? That's just inhumane πŸ•. And it gets even worse - the agent denies them medical care for hours before they finally get some help. That's not how we treat people in this country, no matter what their status is.

I'm so frustrated with the fact that the Department of Homeland Security hasn't commented on this yet πŸ™„. It's like they're just waiting to see if anyone else gets hurt or attacked by these agents. And it's not just about this one kid - there have been other reports of violent incidents involving ICE agents, which is just unacceptable.

As a country, we should be ashamed of ourselves for letting things get this far πŸ˜”. We need to start holding our law enforcement agencies accountable and making sure that they're treating people with respect and dignity, regardless of their immigration status. I mean, who wants to live in an America where the police can just use dogs and pepper spray on innocent people? It's not right, and we need to do something about it πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ.

Wow 🀯 those are just horrific stories about people who were going through so much trauma already, you feel for them πŸ˜” ICE agents have got to be held accountable for their actions - it's not right that they can use dogs and other forms of violence on innocent people πŸ•πŸš«

😱 This is just disgusting... I mean, what's going on with these ICE agents? πŸ™„ They're supposed to be enforcing the law, not using some wild animal like an attack dog to terrorize innocent people! 🚫 It's horrific that Wilmer was lured out of his home and attacked like that. And then they had the nerve to deny him medical care for hours?! πŸ’‰ What kind of monster does that? The fact that Sen Murray is calling on for his release is totally justified, but I wish it didn't come to this... πŸ€• Can't we just treat everyone with respect and kindness, regardless of their immigration status? 🀝 And what's up with the lack of response from DHS?! πŸ™„ Do they even care about the well-being of these people or are they just worried about getting in trouble for some bureaucratic red tape? 🚫 I'm so fed up with this kind of abuse of power... 😑

OMG 🀯 this is so not cool πŸ˜’! Like, what kind of sick game are they playing with these kids? Attack dogs in ICE custody? πŸ• No wonder Wilmer was all messed up from that incident πŸ€•... I mean, I get it, they gotta enforce the law, but come on! The senator's right, though - this is America, not some bad movie where you can just do whatever and get away with it 😑. Like, what's next? Using water cannons or something? It's just so inhumane πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ... We need to hold our reps accountable for this kind of stuff! ❗️

Ugh, this is getting out of hand 🚫. Can't believe those ICE agents are still using attack dogs to intimidate people. It's like they think it's okay to use animal cruelty as a means to control folks who are just trying to make ends meet? The fact that the kid was left shaking and dizzy with vision blurring and still got denied medical care for hours is just horrific 🀯. And what's with the department not commenting on this? It's like they're covering something up πŸ˜’. I mean, I get that there are a lot of complexities around immigration, but this kind of abuse is just unacceptable. We need to hold our elected officials accountable for holding ICE agents accountable for their actions πŸ’”.
