Shane Gillis to develop new projects with Netflix under multi-year deal

Comedian and writer Shane Gillis has inked a multi-year deal with Netflix to develop new projects for the streaming giant. As part of the agreement, Gillis and his longtime collaborator John McKeever will work on films, series, and unscripted content under their production company Dad Sick Productions.

Gillis and McKeever have already begun production on the third season of their comedy series "Tires," which follows the misadventures of Will as he tries to get his family's auto repair business off the ground with the help - or hindrance - of his cousin Shane, played by Gillis. The show has gained a loyal following, including two weeks on Netflix's top 10 list for Gillis' 2023 stand-up special "Beautiful Dogs."

The deal marks a significant milestone in Gillis' career, which has been bolstered by his Philadelphia roots and connections to the local comedy scene. He won Philly's Phunniest award at Helium Comedy Club in 2016 and has worked with notable figures like Saquon Barkley.

Netflix's commitment to working with Gillis and McKeever is a testament to their unique brand of humor, which has resonated with audiences worldwide. The company's vice president of comedy series for the US market, Tracey Pakosta, praised Gillis' "raw, unfiltered energy" and noted that "Tires" feels familiar to many viewers.

Under the terms of the deal, Gillis and McKeever will have a significant hand in developing their projects, including two more stand-up comedy specials for Gillis. The show's success has also led to production taking place largely in West Chester, where every episode is directed by McKeever.

I'm so stoked about Shane Gillis' new deal with Netflix! It's like, finally, he gets the recognition he deserves 🀩. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch more of that raw, unfiltered energy on their screen? The fact that they're already working on another season of "Tires" is a no-brainer - people love that show! And let's be real, it's not just the comedy special that's got them hooked, it's the whole vibe and atmosphere of the production. I've seen some behind-the-scenes vids from West Chester, and it's like you can feel the love and care that goes into every episode ❀️. It's a testament to Gillis' unique brand of humor and his team's dedication to bringing it to life. Can't wait to see what they come up with next!

just great, another Netflix original that's going to be, like, super relatable to everyone... meanwhile, have you seen Shane Gillis' stand-up specials? they're, like, the highlight of your week or something . I'm glad someone is finally taking notice of his raw, unfiltered energy. I mean, who wouldn't want more of that in their life? it's not like we're all tired of the same old formulaic comedy already. West Chester, huh? at least it's a real town with some character... unlike some other fictional places i've seen on tv πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

omg i'm so stoked for Shane Gillis 🀩 he's been doing some hilarious work with "Tires" and now netflix is giving him a multi-year deal πŸ“šπŸŽ¬ that's like, the ultimate validation for all his hard work! i've been watching "Tires" and it's literally one of my favorite shows right now πŸ˜‚ i love how Shane and John McKeever collaborate on everything - they're like two peas in a pod 🀝 anyway, this deal is super exciting because it means more opportunities for Gillis to showcase his unique brand of humor 🎀 i'm totally hyped to see what he comes up with next! πŸ‘

I'm so stoked for Shane Gillis 🀩, he's been killing it with his stand-up and "Tires" series on Netflix! It's amazing how far he's come since Philly's Phunniest award back in 2016. The fact that Netflix is giving him a multi-year deal is huge, I mean, they're committing to his unique brand of humor which has clearly resonated with audiences worldwide 🌎.

I'm loving the idea of Dad Sick Productions taking over more projects under Gillis and John McKeever's leadership πŸ’Ό. Two more stand-up comedy specials for Shane? Count me in! And I'm curious to see what kind of crazy stuff they come up with next 🀣. It's awesome that production is going on in West Chester, supporting the local community and all that jazz πŸŽ‰. Can't wait to see what's next for these two comedians πŸ’₯!

idk, I'm kinda excited about Shane Gillis getting this deal, but at the same time, I think it's a bit weird that he and John McKeever are getting all the credit for "Tires" πŸ€”... don't get me wrong, the show is funny and all, but I feel like the whole "auto repair business" thing is kinda played out, you know? I mean, can't they come up with something more original? πŸ’Έ on the other hand, it's awesome that Netflix is committing to more comedy shows, I'm a huge fan of their stand-up specials 🀣, and Gillis' raw energy is definitely infectious... but will we get to see any actual "tires" being changed in the show? πŸš—πŸ‘€

I'm loving this news about Shane Gillis and John McKeever getting a multi-year deal with Netflix 🀩! It's awesome to see their unique brand of humor resonating with audiences worldwide. The fact that they're able to produce films, series, and unscripted content under their production company Dad Sick Productions is a game-changer for them. I think it's also fantastic that Netflix is committed to working with Gillis and McKeever, recognizing the raw energy and authenticity of their comedy style.

The success of "Tires" has been incredible, especially considering it's a relatively new show πŸ“Ί. The fact that they've gained two weeks on Netflix's top 10 list for Gillis' stand-up special is a testament to their hard work and dedication. I'm excited to see what the future holds for this talented duo and what kind of projects they'll be working on next. It's also great to see Philly roots shining through in their success, it's nice to see a local talent making waves πŸŽ‰!

I'm so down for this! It feels like Shane Gillis just landed on the right gig at the right time. You know, back in the day when I was watching "My Name Is Earl" (2005-2009) and loving that Dena Bananas character, I never thought I'd see a comedian getting their own Netflix deal 🀣. But seriously, Dad Sick Productions has been killing it with "Tires," and I'm stoked to see what they come up with next. It's like how "The Office" (US) was on the rise back in 2004-2011 - Gillis' brand of humor just resonates, you know? πŸ“Ί

Just saw this news about Shane Gillis and I gotta say πŸ€”, it's super cool that Netflix is giving him the push he needs. His comedy style is so relatable and authentic - you can tell he's coming from a real place. And I'm loving how Dad Sick Productions is taking over production on "Tires"! It's awesome to see those behind-the-scenes guys getting more recognition. πŸŽ₯ Two stand-up specials already? Bring it on, Shane! πŸ’ͺ

Ugh, can't believe Netflix is making a big deal about Shane Gillis and his dad-sick sense of humor 🀣. I mean, don't get me wrong, the guy's got skills, but it feels like they're just giving him a platform to be himself - aka, a bunch of awkward, unfiltered stuff that might not resonate with everyone πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. And what's up with the production values? West Chester, PA? Really? It's not like it adds to the show or anything πŸ™„. Anyway, I guess it's cool for Gillis and his collab partner John McKeever to have more creative control, but can't they just, like, chill a bit with the hype machine 🀯?

🀩 just seen this news about Shane Gillis getting that multi-year deal with Netflix I'm so hyped for Dad Sick Productions! πŸŽ‰ their style of humor is so relatable and raw, it's no wonder they've got a loyal following like the "Tires" fans. I mean, who doesn't love Will and his wacky auto repair business? πŸ˜‚ also gotta give props to John McKeever, he's been with Gillis since day one and their collab is pure magic. 🀝 can't wait for more of their projects, especially those stand-up comedy specials! πŸ’₯

just saw this thread about Shane Gillis getting a deal with Netflix and I'm like what took so long lol their show "Tires" is really growing on me, love how it's all about family and just trying to make a living 🀣. the fact that they're from Philly too gives it an extra layer of authenticity, you feel?

I'm not sure what's wilder, the fact that Shane Gillis just landed a multi-year deal with Netflix or how relatable his humor actually is 🀯. Like, I've been watching "Tires" and it's got me thinking about how we all struggle to find our place in this crazy world, right? Will's misadventures might be fictional, but they feel eerily familiar.

It's also interesting to see how Netflix is committing to Gillis' unique brand of humor, which can't be forced or manufactured. It's like they're saying, "Hey, we get you, Shane." And that's what makes their shows so endearing – it's not just the laughs, but the feeling of being seen and understood.

The fact that production is happening in West Chester, where every episode is directed by John McKeever, just adds to the charm. It's like they're creating this little world where people can escape and laugh together. I wonder what other projects Gillis and McKeever have up their sleeves... πŸ€”

🀩πŸ’₯ just heard the news that Shane Gillis landed a multi-year deal with Netflix πŸ“Ί and I'm super hyped πŸ’―! His unique brand of humor is totally on point πŸŽ‰, and I love how he's got that raw, unfiltered energy βœ‹οΈ that makes you laugh out loud πŸ˜‚. The fact that Dad Sick Productions will be behind the scenes developing new projects for the streaming giant is a total win πŸ†! I'm curious to see what they come up with next... maybe some more hilarious stand-up comedy specials? 🀣 and of course, more episodes of "Tires" πŸš—πŸ’¨. Can't wait to binge-watch all their content πŸ“ΊπŸ‘€
