I'm still not buying into this whole shutdown thing
. I mean, 42 million people relying on SNAP benefits? That's just crazy talk! What's the government thinking? Can't they see that's gonna cause chaos everywhere? And now they're saying they'll pay the military on time? That's like putting lipstick on a pig - it doesn't change the fact that the system is broken

I don't think suspending SNAP benefits is such a bad idea, you know? It's like, wake up call or something. Maybe if people had to really feel the pinch, they'd get their acts together and start making some changes
. And what's with this "Get rid of the Filibuster" thing? I mean, I'm all for progress, but this just feels like a desperate attempt to distract from the real issue

The fact that 42 million people are gonna be affected by this is just crazy, and food banks are already struggling. It's heartbreaking to think about all those families who will have to go without food because of this. 
I don't get why the Senate Republicans are being so stubborn about getting rid of the filibuster - doesn't it make more sense for them to work with Democrats on a solution? 
And yay, the White House is gonna pay the military their salaries on time... that's like the bare minimum, right? 
At least they're not leaving anyone without pay. The lawsuit against the gov't is also interesting - I wonder how that's gonna play out in court.
