Sorry, the "Heated Rivalry" gay Marvel fanfic origin story isn't true

I mean I'm not surprised the writers drew inspiration from fandoms, it's like they say - everything is just one big mashup of ideas, right? 🤷‍♂️ But what really gets me is that Rachel Reid was like totally upfront about using fanfic as a starting point. It's refreshing she owns up to it and doesn't try to hide the fact that her characters were influenced by Marvel.

And can we talk about how cool it is that fans are still speculating about the origins of the story? Like, I know some people might think it's weird, but I'm all for geeking out over fandoms. It just goes to show that fan fiction has a real impact on popular culture.

I've seen a lot of reactions from fans saying they're so glad they got to be a part of Reid's writing journey, even if it was just through her AO3 posts. And I can get behind that - sometimes all we need is someone to share our passions and let us know that what we love isn't weird or alone.

Anyway, enough about all that 🤗. What I really want to say is...if you haven't checked out 'Heated Rivalry' yet, go give it a watch! The hockey scenes are lit 🔥, but the romance stuff is where it's at for me.

omg u guys i'm literally so emotional about this story!! 🤯 like rachel reid was just experimenting with her characters and trying to find their roots, but then she gets caught up in this huge fanfic drama... 🙈 it's wild that fans are still trying to piece together what inspired scott's character. and the parallels between François arnaud and chris evans are MIND-BLOWING!!! 👀 meanwhile reid is just over here like "yeah i know my publisher was a bit weird about it" 😂 but honestly, can we talk about how much credit she deserves for even being brave enough to share her work in the first place?! 🙌

omg I just found out about this & I'm low-key obsessed with the idea of Scott's character being inspired by Steve Rogers 😂🏒️ what if François Arnaud is actually a secret Marvel superfan?! 🤣 the parallels between Chris Evans and his co-star are crazy, it's like they're meant to be Bucky and Cap lol 🙌 anyway, I love how Rachel Reid is owning her fanfic roots & being all like "hey, my work was flawed but it helped me grow as a writer" 🙏 kudos to her for being so humble & accepting of her mistakes 💖

Wow 🤩 the whole fanfiction connection thing is kinda cool! I mean, it's like how our favorite books can start with a single sentence or idea that just takes off. And it's crazy that Rachel Reid was low-key posting fanfic on Archive of Our Own and people are still rewatching her old works. It's also awesome that she's owning up to her mistakes and using them as lessons for growth. I guess you could say the 'Stucky' vibes have come full circle 😂.

😂 I was just thinking about this crazy foodie challenge where you have to eat a whole pizza by yourself in one sitting... sounds like a real endurance test 🍕👀 anyway back to hockey and Marvel, what's up with all these connections between fandoms? Like, did they actually watch the same episode of 'The Office' and just started imagining Steve Rogers and Ilya Rozanov hanging out at Dunder Mifflin? 🤣

I'm loving this drama series 'Heated Rivalry' so far! I mean, who doesn't love a good romance, especially in the hockey world? 🏒️ I'm curious to see how it all unfolds between Shane and Ilya's rivalry and their love story. But what's really cool is learning about Rachel Reid's journey as an author and how her fanfic roots actually influenced her writing career 💫. It just goes to show that sometimes, taking risks and being vulnerable can lead to amazing things 🌟.
