Spanish-inspired restaurant Antidote coming to Detroit’s East Village - Detroit Metro Times

Detroit's East Village is set to get a taste of Spain with the grand opening of Antidote, a new Spanish-inspired restaurant from entrepreneur Nya Marshall. The eatery will take over the former space of Norma G's, another Caribbean-inspired spot that closed its doors in 2023.

Antidote promises to bring Mediterranean cuisine with a global twist, drawing inspiration from Catalan and Basque techniques to create dishes like mussels and chorizo, and cod cooked in a traditional style. The menu also features a unique dessert option: the famous Basque cheesecake.

But it's not just about the food - Antidote will also offer an extensive selection of wines and cocktails, including non-alcoholic options for those who prefer to abstain. And with its late-night hours, customers can enjoy their meals long after the sun has set.

Marshall, a Detroit resident with a passion for good food, has been expanding her culinary ventures in recent years. Her previous restaurants include Ivy Kitchen and Cocktails, which opened in 2020 in a long-abandoned building.

Antidote's grand opening takes place on January 19th at 14628 E. Jefferson Ave. The restaurant will be open for brunch, dinner, and late-night service, with private dining options available for special occasions.

I'm loving the idea of Antidote bringing a taste of Spain to Detroit's East Village 🌯️! It's always exciting to see new restaurants popping up in cities, especially when they offer unique twists on traditional cuisine like Mediterranean food with global influences 😊. And let's be real, who doesn't love a good Basque cheesecake? 🍰👍 The fact that Antidote will also have an awesome selection of wines and craft cocktails is just the icing on the cake (or should I say, the olive oil on the paella?) 😉. It'll be great to see Nya Marshall's culinary ventures continue to thrive in Detroit - can't wait to try it out! 👏

Just saw that Antidote is opening in Detroit's East Village 🤩! I'm hyped to try out their Spanish-inspired food. You know how much I love trying new restaurants, especially when they bring a unique twist to traditional cuisine. The fact that they're offering non-alcoholic options for drinks is a big plus too 👍. It's also awesome to see Nya Marshall bringing her passion project to life. I've been to Ivy Kitchen and Cocktails before, and it was amazing. I'm excited to see what Antidote has in store for us. Definitely adding this to my list of places to try out ASAP 📅!

omg u guys can u believe detroit is gettin a taste of spain now? Antidote sounds like the perfect spot to grab some mussels and chorizo after a long day 🤣🍽️ i mean who doesn't love a good basque cheesecake tho? 🍰 marshall's been doin her thing with ivy kitchen and cocktails, i'm hyped she's expanding 🚀 January 19th can't come soon enough for all the foodies out there!

I'm not really sure why everyone's hyped about this new Spanish-inspired spot in Detroit's East Village 🤔🍴. Don't get me wrong, I love a good Basque cheesecake as much as the next person, but is it really that unique? 😐 It seems like every trendy restaurant nowadays has to have some sort of global twist or fusion cuisine. I mean, what's wrong with just serving good old-fashioned comfort food, you know? 🤷‍♀️ But hey, if people want to shell out $20 for a plate of mussels and chorizo, that's their prerogative 💸. And let's be real, the fact that it's got late-night hours and a killer selection of wines and cocktails is definitely a selling point 🍹. So, I guess Antidote will do just fine... for now 😊.
