OMG just saw those vids of Colombo underwater its like something outta a movie ! 200+ ppl dead already? and it's still not over? gotta send all our thoughts & prayers to Sri Lanka rn . Climate crisis is like, super real now, you feel? the more we ignore it, the worse it gets . Glad India, Pakistan & Japan are stepping in with aid tho . We need more international support ASAP οΈ #SriLankaRelief #ClimateCrisis
can't believe how much devastation cyclone ditwah has brought to colombo it's heartbreaking to see people having to flee their homes & carrying all their belongings with them i hope the international aid pours in ASAP because this is a disaster that requires a lot of support i mean, we gotta acknowledge that climate crisis does play a big role in these kinds of extreme weather events and it's not just about the death toll, but also about the trauma & displacement people are going through
omg... just got back from a virtual trip to srilanka cyclone ditwah is literally insane! i saw pics of whole streets underwater & people stuck in their homes like they're in a scene from a disaster movie 200 dead? that's heartbreaking. and the worst part is, climate change is making these disasters worse... we gotta do better hope india, pakistan & japan can send more help ASAP
OMG , I feel so bad for those ppl in Sri Lanka, its like they're goin thru the worst . The cyclone is literally destroyin everything in its path, and the flooding is so intense it's like a movie scene . But u know what really gets me? All these countries jumpin in to help, but we're not talkin about the root cause here - climate change . Like, shouldn't we be learnin from past disasters and takin steps to prevent this kinda thing from happenin again? Not just throwin aid at it after the fact .
And can we talk about how heroic that 1 lady is who's carryin all those bags of clothes and stuff? She's literally puttin her life on hold 2 save her neighbors, what a legend!
Cyclone Ditwah just made Colombo go underwater β guess you could say it had a 'blowing' effect ! The Sri Lankans are really taking a hit, I mean who needs that much rain? And 200 dead is no joke. It's like the Kelani River was all, "Hey, let's just raise my water level and flood everyone out!"
But seriously, the climate crisis is real, and it's affecting countries worldwide. The Sri Lankans are lucky to have some international friends stepping in with aid. India, Pakistan, and Japan β they're like the ultimate 'save-the-day' squad!
Let's just hope this disaster doesn't leave a lasting impact on the people of Colombo. Fingers crossed (or should I say, fingers crossed for better weather forecasting?)
Ugh, my heart goes out to those in Sri Lanka right now This cyclone is just another example of how climate change is intensifying natural disasters It's heartbreaking to see families having to flee their homes and struggle to find safety The fact that the country was already dealing with flooding issues last year makes it even more tragic India, Pakistan, and Japan are doing what they can to help, but it's just not enough We really need to take action to reduce our carbon footprint and mitigate the effects of climate change before it's too late
