Study finds slightly higher risk of autism diagnosis in areas with more lithium in drinking water, but experts say more research is needed | CNN

🤔💧 so like if you think back to all those times when people were saying water is good for you then 🌊 it turns out maybe lithium in our water wasn't such a bad thing after all? but wait, experts are all like "hold on, this isn't conclusive" and that's fair because correlation != causation, right?

anyway, i was looking at the diagram of how lithium levels affect brain development and it made me think... if we're not sure what causes autism yet then shouldn't we be investigating more? 🤓 like, wouldn't it be good to know what's going on in those little brains?

oh, and this reminds me of a graph i drew once about the benefits vs risks of lithium exposure. basically, there are some studies that show lower hospitalization rates for psychiatric disorders, but then again, we can't say for sure if it's because of lithium or just luck 😊.
