Tell us: are you a UK centenarian or do you know one?

I'm like totally stoked that there are so many centenarians in the UK right now 🤩! I mean, 16,600 people aged 100+ is crazy! It makes me wonder what their secret sauce is - do they have a special diet, exercise routine, or something else entirely? 🍴🏋️‍♀️

I think it's so cool that the government is recognizing these incredible individuals and wanting to hear from them. I'd love to ask a centenarian about their biggest regrets (maybe what song was playing in 1923?) and what advice they would give to someone trying to live an extra 50-100 years 🎵📝

I'm imagining a big documentary series or podcast where people can share their stories, and it could be so inspiring! Who knows, maybe we'll discover some life-changing tips that we can all apply to our own lives 💡💬

I've been following this story since 2018 and it's mind-blowing to see how much the numbers have increased 🤯👵 I mean, what can we even say? These people are literally rewriting the book on aging! 😂 But seriously, I think it's really interesting that they're asking centenarians for advice. I was reading a thread on Twitter from 2019 where someone asked their 102-year-old grandma about her secrets to longevity 🤔 She said something like "just take care of your mental health" and "don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it". Simple yet profound 💡

🤔 I'm not buying it 🙄. Like, how do they expect people who are 100+ to just magically share their "wisdom" without any kind of vetting or investigation? Are we supposed to take these stories at face value? What's the criteria for selecting these centenarians? And what exactly does "shedding light on what drives a lifetime of vitality and purpose" even mean? Sounds like just another feel-good PR stunt to me 🚫.

🤔 I think its not just about the physical stuff, like eating healthy or exercising...its also gotta be mental...like your attitude, how you deal with life's challenges. My grandma lived to 102 & she was always super optimistic, even when things were tough. She'd say that 'happiness is a choice'...so I guess its all about making the right choices. Plus, she had amazing relationships & loved what she did...so there's gotta be some connection between those things too 🌈

I'm just wondering what's driving this surge in centenarians... is it better healthcare? lifestyle changes or something else? 🤔 I mean, these people are basically superhumans right now 😂. Seriously though, have you guys noticed that there's been a lot more focus on aging and longevity lately? It's like we're all trying to be 100 in some way! 💪

I think it would be really interesting to hear from centenarians about how they've managed to stay young at heart. Like, do they still party hard or what? 😉 And what advice can they give to people looking to live longer and healthier lives? It's not just about the physical health, but also mental well-being, right?

I'm curious, have we been focusing too much on the 'old age' aspect of it all? Like, are there any new discoveries being made that could help us all live longer and happier lives? 🤓
