Thankful to be free of back pain

The Unlikely Relief from Back Pain

This Thanksgiving season, as many Americans reflect on their gratitude, Mona Charen shares a personal story that might seem trivial compared to the weighty issues of politics and society. But for millions of people, back pain is a debilitating reality that can upend daily life.

For years, Charen suffered from excruciating back spasms, which would strike without warning, rendering her unable to move or even get out of bed. The pain was relentless, and despite trying various treatments – including heat therapy, massage, physical therapy, and medication – she found no relief until a personal trainer helped her discover the power of core strengthening exercises.

The science behind back pain is as fascinating as it is frustrating. Despite advances in medical imaging, many people with normal-looking spines still experience recurring episodes of debilitating pain. Charen notes that evolution scientists blame bipedalism for this phenomenon, but it's clear that our ancestors didn't exactly have the luxury of adjusting their spinal structure to accommodate a two-legged lifestyle.

The impact of back pain is staggering. According to the National Institutes of Health, 80% of Americans will experience low back pain at some point in their lives, and 26% are currently suffering from it. The condition is the second most common reason for hospitalizations and costs approximately $250 billion annually.

While Charen's story may not be representative of all back pain sufferers, her journey highlights the potential benefits of core strengthening exercises like Pilates or Robin McKenzie's methods. While hiring a personal trainer might not be feasible for everyone, research has shown that these approaches can be life-changing for millions.

As Thanksgiving arrives, many Americans will gather around the table, free from fear of back spasms. Charen's story serves as a poignant reminder that gratitude can take many forms – even the simplest pleasures like being pain-free on a holiday can bring immense joy.

I'm so over how much back pain is becoming a thing 🤯. Like, I know 80% of Americans are gonna experience it at some point in their lives or whatever... but isn't that just, like, super annoying? 😩 And don't even get me started on the cost - $250 billion annually? That's wild 💸. I mean, I'm all for being grateful and whatnot, but can't we find some way to make back pain less of a thing? 🤔 Maybe it's just me, but I think core strengthening exercises are actually kinda cool 🏋️‍♀️. I've tried 'em out with my trainer (she's super into Pilates right now) and it really does make a difference 💪. So yeah, let's all just take a deep breath and try to appreciate the little things, like not having to crawl out of bed because of back spasms 😴.

I'M SO SICK OF PEOPLE OVERLOOKING BACK PAIN!!! IT'S LIKE, WE'RE ALL FED UP WITH THE PAIN, BUT NO ONE REALLY KNOWS WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT 😩💪. I MEAN, CHAREN'S STORY IS GORGEOUS, DON'T GET ME WRONG, BUT FOR MILLIONS OF PEOPLE OUT THERE, IT'S NOT JUST A TRIVIAL ISSUE 🙅‍♀️. WE NEED MORE RESEARCH AND Solutions LIKE CORE STRENGTHENING EXERCISES, ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T AFFORD TO HIRE A PERSONAL TRAINER 💸. AND LET'S BE REAL, 80% OF AMERICANS WILL EXPERIENCE LOW BACK PAIN AT SOME POINT IN THEIR LIVES?! THAT'S LIKE, WORSE THAN THE FLU OUT THERE 🤢. WE NEED TO START TAKING IT MORE SERIOUSLY AND FINDING CURES FOR THIS THING! 💥

I'm still learning about my body lol 😂 I was talking to someone online and they said exercise is super good for back pain, but what if you're not fit or something? 🤔 I don't know... I try to stretch after gaming sessions, but it kinda hurts 🤕. Does anyone have any good yoga routines for beginners? 💆‍♀️ And btw, did Mona Charen take a break from Pilates or was she doing it all the time? I wanna try out core strengthening exercises, but I don't know if I can afford personal trainers 💸👀

😊 The way we approach our bodies and health is so different from how our grandparents did it, right? I mean, back in the day they just lived with pain, you know? Now we have all these options and treatments, but sometimes it's the simple things like exercising your core that can make a huge difference. Pilates and those other exercises might not be for everyone, but at least they're worth trying 🤸‍♀️💪. And 80% of Americans struggling with back pain is just crazy to think about... we need to find ways to manage it better, like Charen did 👍

I'm still blown away by how much more I understand about my own body after reading Mona Charen's story 🤯💪. Core strengthening exercises are literally a game changer! I've been struggling with lower back pain for ages, and it's crazy how something as simple as engaging my core can make such a huge difference 😌. It's also kinda mind-blowing to think that evolution scientists still can't pinpoint the exact reason behind all this back pain 🤔. Has anyone else tried any of these exercises or methods? What are some good starting points for someone like me who wants to try them out?

Ugh, I'm so over how we're always told to focus on mental health and self-care, but our physical bodies are still suffering in silence 🤕. Back pain is not just something you "tough out" or find a quick fix for. It's a real condition that affects millions of people, and it's time we start talking about the science behind it 🧬.

I mean, think about it - our ancestors didn't exactly have the luxury of adjusting their spinal structure to accommodate bipedalism. So why do we expect our modern bodies to just magically adapt? It's not that hard to acknowledge that there are limits to human evolution and that our bodies can still break down 🤯.

And let's be real, core strengthening exercises like Pilates or McKenzie's methods might not be for everyone, but they've been shown to be life-changing for millions. But hey, who needs research when you're just gonna tell people to "find their inner strength" and "be positive"? 🙄

I'm low-key impressed by Mona Charen's story, you know? Like, I was expecting some deep politics talk, but instead we get a personal tale of back pain and how core strengthening exercises totally changed her life 🤯💪. And yeah, 80% of Americans will experience low back pain at some point... that's crazy! I guess it just goes to show that our bodies aren't always designed for the things we think they are 😂.

I do love that she brings up evolution and bipedalism as an explanation, but also kinda acknowledges that our ancestors didn't exactly have the luxury of tweaking their spinal structure. It's all about perspective, you know? Anyway, I'm totally gonna look into these core strengthening exercises now... maybe I'll even hire a personal trainer 🤔💼.

🤗 OMG can you believe 80% of Americans have to deal with low back pain at some point?? 🤯 I had no idea it was so common! I've been dealing with plantar fasciitis for years and it's literally sucked the life out of me 🙃. I'm all about trying new things, but I gotta say, core strengthening exercises seem like a game-changer 🤸‍♀️. Has anyone tried Pilates or Robin McKenzie's methods? Want to share some tips! 💁‍♀️

I'm so glad Mona Charen shared her personal story about finding relief from back pain. It's crazy to think that 80% of Americans will experience low back pain at some point in their lives 🤯. I mean, who wouldn't want to be able to move around without wincing in pain? And it's not like she was using any fancy medical treatments or anything - just some simple core strengthening exercises 💪. I'm definitely going to look into Pilates or that Robin McKenzie method for myself now... has anyone tried them out? 🤔

I feel so sorry for people struggling with back pain 🤕💔. I mean, we're so lucky to be able to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner without worrying about our backs going out on us 😂. It's crazy that 80% of Americans will experience low back pain at some point in their lives - that's like, almost everyone! 🤯 And it's not just the pain itself, but also how it can affect your daily life and limit what you can do. I think it's awesome that Mona Charen found relief through core strengthening exercises 💪🏼. Maybe we can all take a page from her book and prioritize our back health? 🤔

I was reading this article about Mona Charen and her struggles with back pain... I gotta say, it's crazy how common it is for people to experience debilitating back spasms. 80% of Americans will get low back pain at some point - that's like, almost everyone! 🤯 And the good news is that strengthening your core can make a huge difference. I'm no personal trainer, but I've tried Pilates and it really helped me with my back issues too. The thing is, people don't always talk about this stuff, so it's refreshing to see someone share their story like Mona Charen did. Maybe we should all take care of our backs a little more, 'cause it can totally change your quality of life 💪

I feel so bad for Mona Charen, experiencing all that back pain 😔. But at the same time, I'm super grateful she found relief through core strengthening exercises 🏋️‍♀️. It's crazy how our bodies work and how simple things like exercise can make such a huge difference 💪. The thing is, we don't need some fancy medicine or doctor to find relief – just making small changes to our daily habits can totally flip the script 🔄. And that's what I love about Charen's story – it's not about fixing something with money or technology; it's about finding life balance and taking care of ourselves 🌞. We can all learn from her journey and be kinder to our own backs...and minds ❤️.

tbh i'm so done with how common back pain is 🤕 like 80% of americans or what? it's wild that our bodies are just not made for walking on two legs all day 😂 and i love that mona charen found relief through core strengthening exercises, that makes total sense 💪 but still, $250 billion a year is insane 💸 can we just say thanks to pilates for saving our backs (and wallets)? 😉

🤗 Back pain is such a bummer, you know? I had some issues with my lower back a few years ago and it was super frustrating. But after trying out some core strengthening exercises (I did a Pilates class), I felt so much better. It's crazy how something as simple as exercising your abs can help alleviate back pain! 💪 The article highlights how many people suffer from this, like 80% of Americans or whatever... it's crazy to think about. Anyway, thanks for sharing Mona Charen's story – it's definitely inspiring! 😊

omg this is so inspiring!!! 🤩 i totally get it, back pain is literally the WORST 💔 and its amazing to hear about Mona Charen's journey, she must've felt like her life was over at times 😩. core strengthening exercises are a total game changer, gotta try them out myself! 🏋️‍♀️ also 80% of americans experience low back pain?? that's crazy 😲 need to get on top of this ASAP! 💪 and can i just say, the science behind it all is wild 🧬 evolution scientists blame bipedalism for this? yeah no kidding 🙃. anyway, gotta be grateful for these tiny victories like feeling pain-free on thanksgiving 😊🦃

I'm so glad to hear about Mona Charen's journey with back pain! I've had friends who've struggled with it, and it's amazing how a simple exercise routine can make all the difference 🤸‍♀️💪. It just goes to show that even when we're struggling with something as debilitating as back pain, there are always options available to us, whether it's trying a new exercise or seeking help from a personal trainer 💡. And I love how Charen's story highlights the importance of gratitude – sometimes it's the little things in life that bring us the most joy 🍽️🦃.

🤔 I'm so done with all these sciency explanations for why we're still getting back pain lol. Like, bipedalism is cool and all, but come on! It's 2025 and we should have figured out a way to make our spines more comfortable by now 🙄. Anyway, Mona Charen's story is super inspiring – I've tried core strengthening exercises before and they actually made a huge difference for me 🏋️‍♀️. And yeah, Pilates is life-changing (I swear by it) 💪. But what really gets me is how many people are still suffering from this debilitating pain... like, 26% of Americans? That's crazy 😵. Anyways, on to the good stuff – let's get that turkey and all the fixin's without any back spasms 🦃👍!

I'm just saying... 80% of Americans will experience low back pain? That's wild 💀. Like, what's the point of having a strong core if you're gonna still be feeling those gnarly spasms all the time 😩. And don't even get me started on how expensive it is to deal with all that back pain... $250 billion annually? That's like, crazy 🤯. I feel for people like Mona Charen who've found relief through core strengthening exercises, but for others, maybe we need to look into more holistic solutions 🧘‍♀️.
