I'm not convinced about all this "strategic supremacy" business. What's the actual definition of "valuable resources" here? We're talking about the moon's south pole, right? Isn't that just a big ol' rock? Or are they seriously trying to extract some kinda space-based energy or something? Solar arrays powered by "peaks of eternal light"? Sounds like a bunch of pseudoscience to me. And what's with all this private corporate involvement in space exploration? Don't they have enough to worry about on Earth, like their own environmental impact and worker safety records? We need more transparency here before I get on board with the whole "New Space Race" hype.
I'm not sure why they need to be like that ... Can't we just focus on making it work? I mean, what's the big deal about the moon being worth something? It's just a rock, right? And what's with all these countries and corporations fighting over it? Can't we just share or something? It feels like we're always repeating the same mistakes on Earth, and now we're doing them in space too. I don't get why that's necessary
im loving how this new space race is sparking conversations about sustainability & cooperation it's wild to think that our actions in space could either be a step towards a better future or just another echo of the problems we're trying to solve on earth what if instead of racing against each other, we were working together to find ways to preserve the moon's resources & protect its delicate ecosystem? that would be a true victory for humanity
NASA & China gonna clash over moon's south pole? Like who needs more debt Meanwhile, Earth's biocapacity is tanking β might as well extract resources from Moon before it's too late
omg space race 2026 is like, the ultimate reflection of humanity's ego can't they just get along? it's all about control and resources like we haven't done that enough on earth already anyway, lunar south pole is probs gonna be a big deal for solar arrays and ice deposits but what about the environment tho? like, we're still figuring out how to not destroy our own planet, let alone some other celestial body can't we just focus on being good neighbors in space instead of trying to one-up each other?
omg like i cant even right now!! so yeah i was literally thinking about this and i am totally team nasa all day erry day theyve been working so hard on the artemis program and it just makes so much sense to prioritize sustainability and cooperation in space exploration cuz if we dont learn from our mistakes here on earth we're doomed lol the idea of orbiting datacentres powered by solar energy is like totally genius and i wish more people would talk about the moon's south pole resources because theyre literally gonna change the game for us
