Paralives Delayed to May 2026 as Developers Seek Perfection
The eagerly awaited life simulation game Paralives has been pushed back from its initial early access release on Steam in December to a new date of May 25, 2026. The news was confirmed by lead developer Alex Massé and the team at Paralives Studio, who cited "latest feedback" as the reason for the delay.
According to Massé, the expansion of playtests revealed that the game wasn't yet meeting its desired standards for release. Specifically, issues with impactful bugs in the live mode and a lack of content in the town's social space necessitated further development and refinement. The team has also acknowledged that the onboarding experience needs improvement.
Despite the setbacks, Massé expressed pride over the progress made so far, including the solidification of character creator and home builder modes. However, the developers recognize that more work is needed to ensure a polished simulation experience that will keep players engaged.
The six-year development process has seen the team grow from just two or three members to an average of 10 people, with Massé acknowledging the challenges of working on multiple components simultaneously. To rectify this, the team plans to maintain an early access period for approximately two years, during which time they will continue to develop and release new features.
Fans can catch a glimpse of Paralives' current state through a live gameplay stream scheduled for November 25th, where Massé will share more details on upcoming improvements.
