The Tale of Silyan review – farmer adopts stork in delightfully cockle-warming mud-caked folk tale

🌞 just saw this film and I'm still reeling from it! The way Tamara Kotevska weaves together the Conev family's struggles with the stunning aerial footage of white storks is pure magic ✨. It's not often you see a film that tackles economic hardship with such tenderness and humor, but at its heart, "The Tale of Silyan" is really about the power of love and kindness to get us through tough times ❤️. And can we talk about the cinematography? 🤯 The way the camera captures the beauty of rural North Macedonia is breathtaking 🌄. If you haven't seen this film yet, do yourself a favor and watch it ASAP! It's a cinematic treasure that'll leave you feeling uplifted and inspired 💛

I'm totally rooting for North Macedonia right now 🙌! The economy might be struggling, but it's got some amazing talent behind the lens - Tamara Kotevska's direction is pure magic ✨. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a film that's like a warm hug on a cold day? 😊 It's all about family bonds and kindness, and I think we could all learn from that. The score might be sappy at times, but honestly, it just adds to the emotional depth of the story ❤️. Plus, have you seen those breathtaking stork aerials? 🌳 They're giving me LIFE! The way Kotevska weaves folk tale and documentary elements together is pure genius 🤓. I'm definitely adding "The Tale of Silyan" to my watchlist ASAP, and I think everyone should give it a try too 👍. It's just the right dose of hope and heartache to make you feel all the feels 💕.

I just watched this film about North Macedonia's economic struggles and it was so emotional 🤯. I mean, who hasn't been there right? I remember when my cousin went through financial difficulties in 2018 and had to move back in with his parents 😔. But this family's story is even tougher. The way they're struggling to make ends meet while also dealing with personal losses... it's like, how do you keep going when everything seems to be falling apart? 🤷‍♀️.

I loved the part where Nikola finds that wounded stork and takes care of it - it's like he's taking in his own son who's left home 🐦. And Ana's decision to emigrate is just so... hard 😢. I felt bad for her, even though she's making this tough choice for herself.

The film's cinematography is stunning too! All those breathtaking shots of the storks flying overhead - it's like nature's own cinematic treasure chest 🌳. And the performances from the non-professional cast? Perfect 👏.

Overall, I'm so glad I watched "The Tale of Silyan". It's a beautiful reminder that even in tough times, family love and kindness can carry us through 💕.
